In the 40 years I've been following Cal football there have been more "almost"s than I can fathom
They have almost won the conference 4 times.
They have almost won games, almost got TDs, almost got first downs.
Almost go to a bowl.

They also almost got recruits only to lose them.
During the off-season they almost landed a top DB coach in Duane Akina.
I think we could have used him this year.

So many almosts only to run out of time, be jobbed by politics/officials.
So many almosts only to lose the ball, fail a coverage etc.

I have become, comfortably numb.

Not even close...stand in line behind the Chicago Cubs and what was the Boston Red Sox before 2004. Those fans are or had been teased for 100 years.

OK, but how many almost have the Cubs had?
It is one thing to be bad and Cal football has also had plenty of that but we have also had a ton of almosts
In any case, your list would still make Cal the top tease in football and all of college sports.

The Cubs had a fan ruin their best opportunity...Cal has never had that...

There's a team in the Pac who Coogs It. We are like them except they have sniffed a Rose Bowl in the last half century.

Be thankful you only have 40 years of that.......
I've had 52*

*but I get to hear tales from Pops.... a guy that marched in 3 Cal Rose Bowl appearances.

Such tales give me a glimmer of hope for the future.

Go Bears!!!!

I'm sure we have some sharks fans here. They've been to the post season 17 times in the past 20 years and have failed each and every one of them.

We've been to the playoffs every year literally for the past 20 years and failed, think about that. People like to compare us to the Atlanta Braves but at least they won it in '95.

If you are a cal, sharks, a's fan, I think you have suffered more teases in the past 25 years than just about any possible fan.

The 49ers have been a bit of a tease lately as well.

At least the Raiders aren't a tease.

Cal = 2006 Pac-12 Co-Champions.

Cal = 1975 Pac-8 Co-Champions.

We didn't almost land tTFS. We have him all to ourselves. Well except in February, where the plenary opening session will be entitled, "How the tTFS shattered a Cal TD record."

Early 90's Buffalo Bills.

Cant beat losing four Super Bowls in a Row.

2010-11 Texas Rangers.

After we fail in a Rose Bowl or BCS game, then call me.

No, but we did have this one defensive line coach. Truth is stranger than fiction sometimes.

Thanks for the reminder, proves my point.
Even when we win the conference we are a tease, cause we didn't get the Rose Bowl.
Heck the highest ranked finish (#8 in 1991) had to be the year another conference team was undefeated and national champion.

It's so shiny, my precious! Wait, I thought we only lost 2 games that year.

Don't you have to be attractive to be a tease? This team ain't attractive.
