Awesome, but just to put it into perspective: Jahvid's PRs were 10.3 in the 100m and 20.6 in the 200m

Jahvid Best's top legal time in highschool was a 10.36. Khalfani Muhammad's top legal time was a 10.33. Muhammad's personal best was a 10.22, but the wind assistance was slightly over the limit (2.1 m/s).

To also be "obvious"-the real question is how the speed translates on the field. Watching on TV (so that means next to nothing) KM doesn't seem to come to speed as quickly as Best did once he has the ball. Now, could that be offensive line concerns, confidence, comfortable in the system et. al. who knows...but I would love to see KM on the field and the O catches a team who ends up with an LB on him catching a pass out of the backfield...

That is an issue - there is a lot more talent at RB these days.

Not an issue- he's the number four at best and I see him as a guy we should put in the slot to run reverses and get him into space.

I think he's well down the depth chart at RB. Any similarity with Best exists only on the track.

I think KM will be a weapon next season. I suspect he will play hybrid positions designed to get him open in space. He has gotten a lot faster, and he still has some excellent FB skills. One of the great advantages of TF's system is that you use a lot of offensive players to create nightmare match-ups for defenses. He is also a great threat as a return man. I am very impressed with his recent improvement in the sprints.

I am curious to see how Franklin will utilize Muhammad. Running him up the middle seems like a waste, and to date, I feel like I have not seen Khalfani fully exploit his speed on the field. Maybe this is the year.

Also, it is interesting to me how his involvement with track has affected his development in football, if any.

Go Bears.

Why is there a but there? His PR is .14 slower than probably the fastest Cal football player ever. That's awesome. No but necessary.

Interesting, while everyone focuses on KM, I find a lot more hope in our future for Tre Watson. I recall the videos of him when in HS in SoCal and he was phenomenal using his speed and shiftiness to get the ball to the end zone. I have been surprised he has not advanced more to date, but do hold a lot of that out to his learning curve at the D1 level. I think he is the kind of running back that we have always hoped KM to be.Break away speed, with crafty hips to get open. I am waiting for #5 to blossom. It seems like all the talk is about Lasco (who is mature) and Enwere (the comer) this spring. I am hoping by fall there is a lot of talk about Watson. And yes, he is a different type of back than the two ahead of him in the depth chart, but he is better than KM IMHO.

Watson lacked a 5th gear last year. Lasco was (is) faster. That said, the word is that he has gotten bigger, stronger, and faster and needed to. If you saw the holes he ran through in the HS vids, they were gigantic. I'm 55 and go about 270 and I could have run through those holes. A guy his size has to have a better burst because he doesn't move piles. Hopefully he got that this year with work. Conversely, Enwere has gotten markedly stronger and is quicker and moving piles. KM is a guy that we can use in space on some reverses and quick swing passes. He should be great on returns but I don't think he has great vision to read open space- unlike T Davis who has a great feel.

He is. Not much wiggle, but in the right spots, that kind of speed kills. Hopefully we can find the right spots to use it.

Sonny has been very distinct in discussing the RBs. A lot of depth, including Powell. Dykes even mentioned Bug Rivera, then there's also Coprich.
Khalfani has shown up at practices so he knows the level of competition and what he has to do.
Mostly likely he'll be used in specific situations IF he can show the coaches that he's ready to play football.
