When will the Cal vs. Washington kickoff time be announced?

The game is on the 26th. Right now, it is September 15. The game is just 11 days away, and we don't have a kickoff time yet.

This is an issue for people traveling in to Seattle who want to figure out flight plans for Saturday, if possible.

We could know this afternoon...or perhaps not until NEXT MONDAY due to "6 day" rule.

I am on flight to NY at 9:30 PM...absolutely sucks that they can't tell us within a reasonable time frame.:headbang

According to matt sarz, the time slots for 9/26 are expected to be:

1pm P12n
5pm P12n
5pm ABC
5:30pm FOX
7:30pm ESPN

They all seem like decent games to me, except for Colorado v Nichols St. That should really be placed at 5pm on P12N if it's up against both a Fox and ABC national broadcast. I kinda think USC, UCLA and Oregon would get picked up by the networks over Cal... so we'd play at 1pm on P12N. If they do a 6 day hold and we win though.... they wouldn't have held the Cal-UW game time if they already knew they wouldn't potentially want Cal in primetime.

UCLA plays at Arizona, and there was some speculation that they really didn't want to play it during the day (1pm), due to heat. There is only one timeslot during the day, so maybe the big networks already want Cal v UW in primetime.

Yeah, this is a tough one. Here are the matchups:

UCLA-Arizona
Utah-Oregon
Cal-Washington
USC-ASU
Nicholls St.-Colorado

Other than the Colorado game they are all pretty good, depending on the results from this week. I can see why they are holding for a 6-day selection here -- if one of the teams falls on their faces they are probably sent to the other P12 Network slot. If all teams win as expected then I suspect our game is placed there. Oregon-Utah would be a game between ranked teams and the others feature L.A. schools that usually draw higher ratings (and they are in Arizona so they'd want to play at night).

To answer the OP, I'd say a 60-70% chance we play Washington at 1 PM, if these are in fact the time slots.

The networks only get so many 6 day holds, so using one now means one less in November. So maybe it helps us out on down the line for a home game where an earlier announcement helps Cal fans more.

Later in the season it becomes clearer which teams are good and which aren't, so I can see why they might want to use it now.

Also, yes, better they are using one this week than when Cal has a home date.

I called ATO yesterday and they did not know the starting times of any games except Texass and UCLA. All the other starting times are to be decided later.

What a crock. I would gladly go back to the old bowl system and less money and influence from TV than this nonsense. :headbang

On the other hand, in the past, Cal would only be on TV but 2-3 times a season whereas we can see every game now. So the scheduling inconveniences come with the territory.

It'll be a 10pm EST kickoff for sure.

The Cal website says it's a 2:00 pm game.

That's weird. That's not part of the expected set of time slots, and the website does not say what network is carrying the game.

EDIT: I'm hearing Pac-12 Networks.

Per Matt Sarz, looks like they moved the P12 Network slots around a bit. Colorado game at 11:30, our game at 2. ABC, Fox, and ESPN times still stand, and they are using 6-day windows for those.

So about what we thought, only the P12Net windows got moved.

Are they really only allowing 2.5 hours between the Colorado game and ours? That doesn't make sense

Thanks to a warp in the fabric of space and time, PAC12 Network is using hours that are only 30 minutes long on Earth.

Not sure if original question was a joke or not, but...

The Colorado game vs. Nicholls State is at 11:30am Mountain Time which is 10:30am Pacific time, per Schedule at cubuffs.com.

So that leaves 3.5, not 2.5 hours between the start of that game and the start of our game against the Huskies in Seattle.

The original question was not a joke but obviously the response was so I followed suit.

Going with the original post, it didn't say mountain time so I went with it as all being in the same time zone. If they start at 10:30 PST, then it is fine. Mainly, I don't want to be stuck watching another game instead of the Bears

11:30am in Boulder = 10:30am Pacific. 3 1/2 hrs between games.

Right, didn't notice one was MT and the other PT. So Colorado's game starts at 10:30 AM PT.

I prefer the invocation of general relativity as an explanation. It's the Berkeley thing to do. And since I saw Interstellar, it makes perfect sense. :p
