He looks gimpy. Glad we didn't go to OT. They had the momentum until they "coug'd" it

They were all liars of course....LOL...well, that is what Goff himself said.

Goff is the best college quarterback in the country period. Too bad he doesn't have even the semblance of a defense to compliment his skills. Let's all pray he stays healthy or it's going to be a very bumpy ride.

He looked pretty good running away from the interview on the field after saying, "Go Bears!"

You obviously weren't watching the game. Goff was brilliant but he'd be the first to tell you this defense is considerably improved over the 2012-14 defenses.
Yes let's pray he's healthy - for his sake and the team's. Let's stop trashing the defense and get behind this team.

Go Bears!!

Goff was awesome (autocorrect when straight to God) - got hurt and stayed in. Unbelievable throws - I was thinking that there was no way he could play up to all the hype this week - but he did it with toughness !!

Yeah, he and the running game (o line contributed despite not being great on pass pro) won us this game. Despite being hurt he made the throw to Anderson, who also despite being a good player managed to drop it. Maybe nerves? It worked out this time, hopefully he makes the catch and puts the game away if that situation happens again.

Tried to run the ball before securing the catch. A real Dumbo move. Just catch and drop to your knees - game over.

Goff has the benefit of an offensive system that emphasizes throwing the ball and a great assortment of receivers. Now they have a decent running game too. Goff reminds me of Montana, but not quite the athlete Montana was - big difference in wheels between those two.

It wasn't mentioned in the radio interview either, a little bit later. Longshore's hit in '07 looked a lot worse. Hopefully Goff's is something that is just stiff for a few days and then goes away. But there's always the future... that blindside hit earlier in the game from the Texas player who ran around the Bear's left tackle was not a good sign. We are sure lucky to have Goff and so much depends on his health.

I saw that too in the replay, turning his head around as the ball was entering his hands.

Yup. They stopped the horns and allowed the offense to score 31 consecutive points. After that, it was the offense that stalled.

I am sure that the other P12 teams took note how Goff's injury stopped Cal's O in its tracks and how we had to keep playing a clearly handicapped Goff because we don't have a proven backup QB yet. It is telling that SD would not use Forrest for even one series in the 4th quarter against a tiring Texas D. They will undoubtedly be targeting our huge vulnerability from now on. I would like to see Luke moved back to QB for both insurance and his considerable O skills.

People comparing Goff to a Montana and Rogers and you want to pull him for the last clutch series of the game when he clearly was able to hit Stephen Anderson on the numbers for a first down? If Goff is questionable or a no go in Washington Forest is very able to run this offense.

I talked to Goff after the game on his way to the team bus. He was gracious (like all Cal players) and gladly agreed to taking two pictures with me. Here is my observations:

1. He was not limping from what I saw (admittedly, there was a crowd around and the area was not fully lighted).

2. He looked tired/exhausted. That would be expected after such a game, but, more so with Goff than other players.

3. I asked him specifically if he was hurt. He said, "I am fine, I am fine".

4. Some other players had family and friends waiting by the tunnel and lingered around. but Goff moved on after taking some pictures with the fans, etc.

Go Bears!

Goff did a couple of pooch kicks after the sprain, so couldn't have been that bad

Goff is just starting his junior year. Montana was a so-so QB at ND.
Or are you comparing our junior QB to a seasoned professional QB playing under Walsh. (really ???)

Along with Mohammad's fumble near the goal-line (I'm well aware that Khalfani also made some huge plays for us), that drop could have been lethal. I was really surprised when we realized that it was Anderson; he's money when it comes to making clutch catches.

*edit*
As to the original post, now we play the waiting game to see how the Goff situation plays out. Again, if he plays, I like our chances (duh).

The only negative about this game in my mind (other an the decade it took off my life) is that Goff isn't getting the recognition he deserves for another brilliant and gutsy performance (where by the way he broke an additional three Cal QB records)). He is the absolute man.

Dude its like you guys never seen him play before Goff has always worn that brace on his lead leg. Its to prevent i jury when he steps up in the pocket
