"It's deja vu all over again:" Can we match or even defeat the USC swagger that occurs every season when the Bears attempt to beat the Trojans? Even in our house? After last night's thumping Utah - the feeling we most likely will have is, "No Way!". Unlike past years, this Bear squad may be able to re-group and hold the game tight in spite of the never-ending story of going into the tank against the Trojans. What do you think? Has Sonny prepared this team sufficiently? There have been far too many excuses after the Ucla debacle. I feel the Bears can do it. Yeah, yeah, the Trojans lost some starters last night - but who cares? Either the Bears do, or it's deja vu again until next year..

The only certainty is Cal cannot win against SC this year. Last year the score was close, but the team never threatened SC. The year before was the worst since Gilbertson's 0-61 game. But Cal can and should beat Oregon St. Tune in and show up for that game. That's what's left of the season.

As to Yogi and attendance: "If they don't want to come, how ya gonna stop them?"

As to national TV: Aim the cannon up, and Shoot the Fvcking Blimp.

Good for you, and the $c band-ie crap is at least one good case for piped-in music whenever they start.

This is going to sound bad...but I actually get a kick out of the SC band. I think that is what a college band should be: loud and playing all the time, to the annoyance of the other team. Of course this is coming from someone who once wanted to go to SC. Yes, I was young and stupid. Now I'm a Cal edumacated man.

I am going to the U$C game to root for my beloved Golden Bears! You should too if you are a true Cal fan.

Now, back to reality, beating U$C is a long shot, but, upsets do happen in college (see yesterday's GT beating FSU).

Our best (only?) hope for going to a bowl game this year is beating OSU as they are not a good team this year. They even lost to CU yesterday.

Other than OSU, I don't see any other realistic W in the rest of the schedule.

Go Bears, Pop the Condoms!

P.S. Where are the Sunshine pumpers who were predicting a 10-2 record only four days ago? Where are the sunshine pampers who were sure an 8-4 record is the minimum for 2015 Bears? My heart says let!s hope that miracle happen and they are at least partially right. My brain reminds me that I was at the Rose Bowl on Thursday night and saw how UCLA who was dominated by LSJU (gave up 50 in 2.5 quarter) dominated us in the trenches.

I trust dykes and Franklin to come up with a plan to score some points. USC d is so so. I wish I could say the same about our dc coming up with a plan to stop Kessler and smith.

I am not sure. Our coaching staff had 12 days to prepare for the UCLA's game (to their 7 days) and UCLA!s best player (Jack) was injured, but, our team did not look ready on Thursday night.

This is another chance for Sonny, tTFS and Kaufman, to prove their coaching chops -- and esp. whether they know how to compete against the upper talent of the Pac-12. This actually may be the key game of Sonny's administration. We all know $C is completely more athletic and physical than us. But can he coach us up, in a payoff season where most of his skill guys are upperclassmen, and take down a team we aren't supposed to beat? Show us Sonny. Please. Let's not be cliche and take another beat down. Pull out all the stops, and grow as a coach.

Chalk this one up as a loss.

We're on a downward trajectory. We just got spanked and the offense hasn't been playing to its potential for most of the season.

SC just had their greatest game of the season. Looks like the coaching changes have helped. They're going to come into here really confident.

KAB - I'm with you..this is a test for Sonny and staff - can they do this? No greater challenge right now than to motivate the Bears and help them with at least a plan for success. The Bears SHOULD be motivated enough on their own after stinking it up at the Rose Bowl, but Sonny & Co need to show their grit.

How does Sonny coach up his current roster to protect Goff, rush Kessler, and stop USC's speed demon's?

Coaches can motivate and challenge any group - underdogs - less talented - it has happened time after time..to get a win. Ever play a game that you were outmatched and..gulp, fucking won??? I have both as a player and coach, but maybe that's not what you were asking??

Some kind of smart plan. See what ASU did. We can't do our normal stuff, that's for sure.

Look nobody wants to suffer the stanford band and their lousy musicality and old tired schtick so this is a classic band onlu one of 2 in the pac 12 who actually march And in these times a USC degree is not your grandpa's

This game is going to be Ugly. I don't mean UCLA game, I mean much worse. Afterwards, I think the talk will be more about how long the Sonny Dykes era lasts

Unfortunately, the answer is an emphatic NO!

I'll be going to the game as I always do, but I realize that we have virtually no chance of beating SC. Our bears have begun their usual second half collapse, and the Trojans will only accelerate that trend. Our defense is so bad that Kessler and crew will put up 49 points, and our sputtering offense will have trouble putting up 21 against the SC defense. This game will be a blowout.

I'm sensing a bit of negativity on this board...

Some of the "112 posts" or "55 posts" folks, okay, whatever, but come on, Golden One: We can win Saturday! Seriously, we can! It wouldn't even be a huge upset. Just a... just a regular upset!

Go Bears!
