If you want to see what Goff will look like behind the 49ers OL watch Blaine Gabbert. Goff might be better off playing behind our OL next year. Until there is another monumental shakeup with the 49ers (eg. owner, GM, coaches, players, all of the above) you do not want to go play QB for them.

If balke wants to save his job he'll trade down try to get both tunsil from ole miss and goff. I'm so done with this team right now. Im gonna have to buy 4 people dinner at the house of prime rib because of the raiders being better.

Hell, the Raiders look like the model of health and function now compared to their Santa Clara brethren.

He had a great run, 28yo and an 8-figure net worth. Maybe someone like Kelly could use him now.

Shocker that chasing off your coach and losing half your team in the offseason resulted in a disaster.

49ers are getting everything they deserve.

Maybe he can be quarterbacks coach for Harbaugh at Michigan.

Payback to him for just about single handily beating Cal up in Reno.

Honestly, I'd question whether any 49er fan would want the 49ers to spend a top 5 pick on Goff if he played for any other team. The Raiders aren't in the market for a QB, but if they were, that would be a move that would seriously **** me off.

If Goff goes to the 49ers, it will be a disaster for both. Hopefully Goff would be able to have success with his second team.

It's all in the plan. Owners want to reduce the team to average or a bit lower, make more money by reducing payroll, and booking more concerts. Follow the money.....pretty simple. The new stadium was the key....they got their cash cow, and now it's milking time.

Agreed. At this point, the Niners need to draft all the O-linemen, D-Linemen, and receivers they can - then pick up a quarterback in round 3 or later and pick up a serviceable free agent. A first-round quarterback is gonna get ruined with these Niners.

Also, I would like Jed, Baalke, and Tomsula gone. Thanks.

It's either this or that they legitimately think they are making good football decisions and are merely incompetent.

If you are a 49ers fan, neither possibility leaves much room for hope.

And the Niners will simply try and off-load Kap as soon as possible.
The trade deadline is 1PM today. Gonna be difficult given his $15.3 million salary cap figure.

Either that, or put him in a bunch of "bubble-wrap" on the sidelines because he gets $31 million if injured.
He will be long gone before April of next year . . . when the Niner's would have to pay him his $11.9 million salary (guaranteed) for 2016.

The 49ers should spend every single draft pick they have on OLs and TEs. They don't need a QB that can't run for his life like Kaep. But they should pick up V. Adams as a free agent if he is available (or a similar facsimile).

As a former LA Rams fan I can't like the Niners...but man even I'm feeling sorry for the faithful and the sh*tting of the bed.

Niner fans should consider kidnapping young Jeb so he can't f*ck things up more. Only problem there, mom and dad might take over.

Mom and dad are worse, way worse.
Their worse like diarrhea and gas is worse than just gas.

The Yorks are THE problem any way you cut it.

The thing is this is like father like son. Dad had a falling out with Mooch so fired him even though he was successful and had no plan for replacing him and ended up with Erickson. (seriously, how do you not get along with Mooch?) Then Son repeats with Harbaugh.

Its the difference between earning a fortune and marrying in or being born into one. People who earn a fortune usually do it by getting along with the right people and realizing that sometimes you let talent do what it does. People who are given a fortune think their money entitles them to butt kissing from everyone.

Seriously, all you need to do is write the check and stay out of the way.

I totally agree that it is a social problem that Jed has due to inherited wealth. Not uncommon yet most know better than to try to outsmart those they hire.

Geez, you are good Oaktown. I was going to snarkily respond with "Jerry Jones" as a counter to your argument. He couldn't get along with Jimmy J. and fired him in a tizzy. Then I googled him:
...
When he graduated from college in 1965, he was hired as an executive vice president at Modern Security Life of Springfield, Missouri, his father's insurance company.
...

Yep, Jerry has the same problem as Jed. He got lucky with Switzer or rather Switzer got lucky being hired to coach a stacked team but since then Jerry has been searching for a good head coach.

I agree with you though, the 49ers are in for a long, sad trip with the Yorks in charge. I think they got lucky with Harbaugh. They aren't going to be so lucky when they hire Shaw.

Well, Eddie DeBartolo inherited his father's company so he might actually be an exception. He obviously had his own personal issues, but when it came to running the team he knew how to get out of the way.
82gradDLSdad

Eddie had his issues at the beginning but I think he was trying to find the right GM so he could get out of the way. Before he stumbled onto Walsh and McVey (GM) he hired super-asshole Joe Thomas as the GM. Thomas went through a series of horrible, no-name coaches before he himself was fired. If Jed is smart he'll consult with his uncle and I'm sure Eddie will tell him to fire Balke. If Jed feels that he and Balke make a great team the 49ers are in for a decade of hurt.

To be honest, I regret how I worded that. I sloppily implied that it is a trait that is true of all people who inherit. I don't think it is true for most, but it can be a problem if having FU money comes without effort and you are prone to being an FU kinda guy

And that's the scary thing. As I understand it, Harbaugh's ouster basically came down to a power play between him and Baalke. Jed chose Baalke. Will he be willing to admit he made a mistake? The way the organization seems to continually cast about for scapegoats (Harbaugh first, now Kaepernick) suggests not.
