Paws being positive about Cal football? Shocking. The mere fact that he says 'nobody' has the tools that Goff has makes me discount his opinion as his usual sugary sweet spin on everything Cal football. Sort of like how Aaron Rodgers still thinks Tedford should be coaching Cal football.

+1 My only concern is that he seems to lose his temper quite a bit...I've seen him yelling at the refs on multiple occasions. I hope he is just overly competitive and not emotionally fragile.

I really have a hard time understanding people on this site who slam Goff. The kid is the heart and soul of this team. He isn't perfect or the best there ever was, but he's far ahead of whoever is second. I've enjoyed watching him for three years and appreciate the exceptional skills he brought to Cal. It's too bad others don't feel the same. I wish he would stay another year, but it's hard to turn down the riches that await him.

So if I am reading you correctly anything that Paws says about any Cal player you ignore? When did you play at the NCAA level and pro football?

It sure would have been interesting to see Goff play in a pro set, with a good OL. I guess we'll see that in a year or so. Go Bears!

Not this thread, but one a week ago called "Jared Goff's Legacy" was about 10 to 1 anti-Goff posters.82gradDLSdad;842602453 said:

Just my opinion, but NOBODY should be slamming Cal players on this site, unless they have done something off the field that reflects poorly on the team or university. Anybody who chose to come to Cal, puts in the work to excel in their sport and in the classroom, and puts on the blue and gold and steps into the arena deserves our full support.
Before anyone posts something here, ask yourself, would you say it to that player's face? Would you say it to their parent or relative? Would you want a a recruit to Cal athletics to read it?

I respectfully dissent.
Goff is holding a 9S-7H with the dealer showing a 10C in a negative deck.
However, once Goff is in the NFL, Paws should represent Goff as his agent for a new Isotoner commercial (a la Dan Marino style). The irony!

I'm overruling your objection and granting the motion to have Future NFL Rock God status conferred on Mr. Goff.

My friend, remember that Tedford was no longer running a pro set--that ship sailed a long time ago. If Tedford had stayed Goff would have red-shirted. Our 2013 QB would likely have been Bradford--with the fans screaming for Kline. Kline would have likely started last year and this. Instead Goff has broken all the Cal records. His only injury came on a late hit cheap shot by Skov. I really think playing for Dykes and Franklin in this offense has been a huge godsend for Goff.

I don't know what Pawlawski thinks of Paxton Lynch of Memphis, but I've been majorly impressed with him and don't think there is such a huge gap between Goff and everybody else ("by far"). It's a toss-up in some categories ("tools") between the two. For example, imo Lynch has the stronger arm throwing flat-footed.
I'm also the same guy who raved about some junior named Russell Wilson at NC State and said Andy Dalton of TCU was NFL-caliber in some threads here years ago, but I highly respect Paw's opinion. I just think his usage of "by far" might be a slight exaggeration imo.
I'm curious what he thinks of Lynch, Mayfield of Oklahoma and maybe Baylor's starting QB. Travone Boykin of TCU with more weight may be a very decent pro as well.

Haha. As though MP having played football offsets that his job is to be a homer.Dude might be right, but discounting his opinion because he is a homer is not absurd.bar20;842602372 said:

Always happens when someone proclaims a human the Messiah, and he turns out to be human. Easily avoided if he was judged as Goff as opposed to being judged as the best ever.6bear6;842602416 said:

Non talents?Jesus. This Goff is great discussion has jumped the shark.BunzOfAnarchy;842602579 said:
Or, Tedford would have realized that he had his best QB since Rodgers and simplified his playbook to get him on the field early. (Remember how he had Kyle Boller read only half the field?) Why do you assume he would've handled a talent like Goff the same as non-talents like Bridgford and Kline? Especially when he had no problem playing guys like Keenan Allen as freshmen.
