who knows if he is a top pro prospect. but as I stated in another post his mechanics are not the best. he does wind up on his front foot at times but not very often. that could be due to a weak o-line. bad habits tho once started under pressure are hard to correct. notice when he throws sideways his lead leg sort of swings around him. you want to step toward the direction u r throwing or your accuracy and arm strength will suffer.

a big problem for goff tho is that cal is or at least has become a poor football team and that makes it even harder to look good. cal may have recruited some quality wr's but their o and d line really seem to lack talent

I think the handles Blueblood and BearyWhite are available if you are in the market.

I agree with him. Resurrect this thread a few years from now and I will formally apologize to you if he is a bust.

Bearister is correct. Barring injury, Goff will be an NFL star. And he is not injury prone.

Not this thread, but one a week ago called "Jared Goff's Legacy" was about 10 to 1 anti-Goff posters.

Just my opinion, but NOBODY should be slamming Cal players on this site, unless they have done something off the field that reflects poorly on the team or university. Anybody who chose to come to Cal, puts in the work to excel in their sport and in the classroom, and puts on the blue and gold and steps into the arena deserves our full support.

Before anyone posts something here, ask yourself, would you say it to that player's face? Would you say it to their parent or relative? Would you want a a recruit to Cal athletics to read it?

+10

Figure that recruits read this site. Which alumni would you want to play for?

I like Goff and think he has done reasonably right by Cal Football. I do NOT think he will be a great NFL QB. The guys on Sunday take a HORRIFIC pounding even with the rule changes. Even with the added bulk this year I think Goff will get hurt early and often. My guess is that he signs big and is out of the league within 4. Sad but that is what it is.

The BEST thing that could happen to Goff is a repeat of what happened to Rogers. I agree with you -- if he goes to Tampa Bay or Jacksonville or another of the perpetual 2-14/3-13 teams, he'll be pounded out of the league. He's still 20 lbs too light for the NFL. OTOH, if he were to go to a team like New England, Dallas, Pittsburgh -- perhaps even the NY Giants -- a team with an established QB with 2-3 good years left, then he could learn behind a Tom Brady, Big Ben, Romo, or Eli Manning in the same manner Rogers did. In that time, he could also put on NFL weight.
