Rugby is 100% self-supportive. The program pays 100% of its operating budget and 100% of indirect costs. It is one of only a few programs that does so. It also contributes $150,000 per year to women's gymnastics and lacrosse.

Rugby is one of the few sports that knows how to bring in money and be self-supportive.
It's downright mind-boggling that Jack Bauer has no clue about this.

In fact, in 2010 when rugby was being demoted and Sandy Barbour was running around making a fool out of herself, rugby driven corporate sponsorships had totaled $300,000 to the Athletic Dept.

Jack Clark is a LEADER who leads by example.
Wish we had more people on staff and in the Athletic Department like him.

Fortunately most people admire and appreciate the Rugby program for their excellence.

Rugby is the most successful sport on campus. It does not count against Title IX.

Please tell me the methodology you value football and Memorial Stadium?
Really? Being #2 in the "low reading group" is not considered most successful, IMO! So successful they were beaten by St Mary's and consistently beaten by BYU. When Jack Clark played both teams would go to the Beta House, get ****-faced, sing limericks and do their groupies.

Rugby met the threshold given by the Chancellor, but in terms of net cost to the department resources it's a red number. Facility costs as well as event management and student services resources are not fully covered.

Never mind that Cal Rugby has won 26 total Championships, not too mention 22 National Championships, and the last 3 Rugby 7's titles.Last time I checked, Coach Jack Clark had a 0.88 winning percentage.

Perhaps you can turn on a few brain cells and tell us how valuable the Edwards track facility is and how much the T&F program costs the athletic dept. Do you know how much it runs in the "red" annually?

Or are you far too busy taking "shots" at a successful program like Cal Rugby?
Did a rugby player cut in front of you in the line to the keg one day?
Did he kick sand in your face?
Steal your GF?
