72CalBear: Tell me what you actually did to research this issue before posting so boldly on this topic and challenging me when you know I do the research.
And then I'll shut up.

My wife taught for many years in two of LAs most "prestigious" HS, both Westside. Her observation over the years was that for the purely academically skilled, the target schools were Ivies. For the academic kid who also had athletic talent, it was Stanford.

So, the private schools have an advantage by playing the "I don't have to reveal anything" that the public schools do. Well, the NCAA could but won't place in their bylaws that such information must be shared or you can not be a member of the NCAA. Can you hear the howling?

The regulators have been bought off and the NCAA is no different. Nobody wants to mess with the rich and powerful, not the government, not the NCAA.

Makes sense but there is no reason why Cal has to lose to furd on every kid and they don't. I'm sure that every year there are 25 kids worth their metal both academically and athletically that would commit to Cal under a football scholarship. But we have to have the type of program at Cal that can exploit that opportunity and that means good coaches from top to bottom; good HCs, good coordinators and good unit coaches. IMO most kids commit to the school and the unit coach more than the HC. But Cal has not been competitive with their unit coaches and lost a good one (Akina-DB) to furd because of ??? Since then Cal lost 2 4 star DBs to furd that were interested in Cal.
