1. Quicker to get to from California
2. Cheaper to get to from California
3. Warmer
4. Modern Stadium
5. Jan 2 is a better date than Dec 26 if you want to enjoy the holidays

If so, curious to see the uniforms selected...

They are a top 40 D in PPG allowed, but give-up a relatively fair amount of yards though... The O is just out of the top 40 (#41) in PPG... They are particularly strong on the ground and not a very good passing team, completing passes at just 54%. Would seem to be a winnable game.

Will the swimming pool in Right Field be available for rent?

If true this is a great football situation for us for all the reasons cited by others. I want to play in a game against a team that people think matters not risk losing against a team that people don't think matters. plus the practice and frankly to not have our guys in Vegas. They can get in plenty of trouble in phx/Tempe/Scottsdale anyway. I personally like the stadium and area and phx is a great place to chill, golf, party that time of year whatever you like.

And you could go a day ahead of time and catch the Fiesta Bowl and stay an extra day and see the Seahawks.

Yes. That's why we'll be unveiling our black and white nike uniforms.

Whoa, we couldn't have done much better in terms of venue, calendar and opponent. One extra week of practice vs a Xmas time bowl.

They are announcing the play-off teams at noon EST on ESPN. Presumably they will announce all of the other bowl games then, as well,

Fiesta Bowl Parade - same day - extra activity for Cal fans to squeeze in! Doesn't sound bad to me.

I'm also warming up to the idea of playing our game after the major bowls (and in this case, right after the major bowl in that same city). Instead of "get off the stage before the real games start", it'll be more like "now that the real games are over, you can get more of your football fix by watching a couple teams that had decent seasons and might reach that level soon." (I know, we wish, right?)

It is the 2nd to last college football game of the season. The last being the championship game. So there's that.

Do we know yet? Playing a B12 team is a good thing. The only other alternatives are horrible. MWC or even worse. Playing WVU will be awesome. The stadium will be solid blue and gold!

I went to the insight Bowl in 2003 vs Va Tech. Same stadium. Good time. This would be too. Pick us Cactus Bowl!!
