You're exactly right regarding higher than expected and the buyout. Cal has to be the only school that would give a 40% raise and a 2-year extension to a coach who delivered a 13-23 record in his first three years, has not won a single game against the top 4 teams in the conference, and who nobody else wants. And we wonder why attendance at our home games is so poor and our athletic department has financial difficulties.
