I think we learned our lesson after the Brennan Scarlett debacle.

As a result, we now only release players to transfer to non-Pac 12 schools, as seen in Cedric Dozier's case.

Dunno whether Barton's release was similarly conditional on non-Pac 12 schools, but I would think so.

Basically, Brennan ruined it for everyone and apparently caused a change in Cal's policy on transfers. That's Brennan's legacy here at Cal, lol.
