I learned that Alabama is scum. What did you all learn?
There is no Pac team with close to the talent level of the top southern teams. Great athletes out there. Even the freaking lineman were ultra- quick.

I already knew that Cal isn't Bama or Clemson..really! The story for me is that we either continue to celebrate our Bears not graduating, leaving early, and going into the NFL (which we all do!), or we suggest a minor league, paid football club program that allows players the same opportunities as Bama or Clemson, but aren't called full-time students. It works for baseball and the NCAA can just wet their pants.

Bingo! Been waiting for someone to bring this up. What I saw and learned Monday night was 2 NFL "AAA" teams going at it -- not CFB. Continually trying to shoe-horn "AAA" NFL football into a university system with an educational "mission" has so corrupted the whole system that it's almost beyond watching any more. I have the same complaint about College BBall, incidentally. I hate that the NFL/NBA "uses" CFB/CBB as de facto farm teams -- and I also hate that places like Alabama feed off this situation to their benefit. Certainly doesn't help the players all that much -- we have "one and done's" all over the place now. With an official minor leagues in NFL/NBA, at least the players would have the option of returning to school for an education after their long-shot pro dreams faded. And the universities could get back to what they are supposed to do -- education.
