I have been telling my kids this for years...usually after a group project fail in school. "Collaboration" is too many times the last refuge for jerk offs.

Collaboration works great if the mutual leaders and contributors can be identified, and not letting slackers hide and suck off the contributions of others. Synergy does work, if controlled.
