Context matters. Would see zero problems with NFL teams not requiring college degrees, but Cal's a world class university which has historically had a problem graduating revenue sport athletes.
Marshawn can do whatever he wants with or without a degree, but doesn't seem silly for Cal to have high academic aspirations for athletes and coaches. Respect and admire KJ and Shareef for coming back to Cal to finish their degrees when there was no economic necessity to do so. Wish Marshawn all the best and he can unofficially help the University and football program in multiple ways, but full time coaches should have a degree.
