Finally making the move from Section T -Anyone else moving this season

After quite a while in Section T, I've had enough of the 2 seatbacks directly in front of us every year and the couple that always encroaches into our two seats by a full seat, with us inevitably having to ask them 4-5 times every week to please scoot over when we arrive, with each request greeted with a dead-eyed, expressionless stare and an approximate 2 inch move and me inevitably hanging halfway off my seat into the aisle.

I'll miss being on the aisle by the student section and the view from the 35 yard line but rather than moving elsewhere in Section T, we decided to make the move to EE.

Anyone else in EE and anyone else making a move this season?

Yep. After 34 years in T, I've made the switch across to the land of shade, roomy seats, and old farts.

Yeah but if you're wearing blue and gold I'll move over, say hello, cheer with you, and give you a high five when we score...

Welcome to EE! I made the move two years ago and don't regret it one bit. EE, Row 47.

Yes what's up with folks bringing their seatbacks to the game? And then asking them to move forward is asking for their first born. I wish the stadium could ban them!

MB, I remember a thread, possibly two, where you were at your wit's end in T, figuring-out where to go. Glad you made the move. I've heard only good things about EE.

I prefer the sun, just not in my face, so we remain in JJ. No knees in our backs, and my pop can stand periodically as he prefers without impeding anyone's vision of the field. Seats on the aisle, clocked 15 seconds or less to the nearest men's restroom. Not sure we'll ever move. Can't wait to be back in CMS...

I left the stadium altogether-this was years ago- and went up to Tightwad Hill...would bike up there with a 12 pack and sandwiches...perfect

Three years ago, I made the move from U to the bench backs in EE. I was reluctant, but my aging parents with whom I attend games, needed more room. Now I enjoy it.
After spending 10 years in QQ-young alumni, I got kicked out. QQ had awesome, energetic fans. U had great fans, too, but seemed grumpier. I don't miss being packed in like a sardine with people kneeing you in the back and having to spread my legs or smash them together diagonally. Don't miss baking in the sun. I do miss cheering with my section-mates - its pretty dead on the West side.

Well I sat 5-6 rows in back of you in T but on the other isle. It is pretty good and not that tight. I'd like to sit in FF but $$ is an object there.

We've been in EE for the past couple of seasons. We've tweaked the seats each of the past 2 off-seasons (reseats) because we have a large group of 12 and trying to get everyone together has taken some doing. Looking forward to having you in our zone. We are way up under the overhang of the press box/club zone. Its a nice change from CC.... I haven't sat on the sunny side since the 80's...

I spent 20 wonderful years in EE, (Row 67). Loved the shade, and great group of fans, almost all enthusiastic alumni with a nice touch of sarcasm and cynicism. Only exception was a couple who sat in front of me a few times a year, as in just sat, never stood, never cheered, never even clapped. They looked bored most of the time. I finally concluded they were Furd spies.

I really miss CMS!

Grandmasta, are you the guy yelling at me to sit down all the time?! 😊

Our group moved from T to HH a few years ago because of: 1) the people in front of us with the soft chairbacks that would lean back at a 45 degree angle into our laps; 2) the group behind us that brought their babies and kept kicking us in the back; and 3) too much sun for one in our group. I definitely don't miss that....

We're in 47, too, but in the ADA seats, as that's all they had left in the whole section. So definitely no more crowding!

My row has ADA seats? Hm. I don't recall that. Odd.

This must be some natural age progression. Yah I think I was in TT for the Big Game in 2012 (the one where we played it early), and I had to turn my legs sideways to not touch the person next to me. Then we spent all-halftime going to the concession area, and didn't even make it back for the beginning of the 2nd half. It was a miserable viewing experience. It's west siiiiiide for me from now on.

There are 4 pairs of ADA benches above row 46 on a platform and in front of the club section. Sounds like you're in the left section as you look down to the field and I'm in the bigger section on the right. EE's divided into 2 parts.

Ah, yes. That does make sense. I did know EE is divided, but I didn't realize that was row 47. My area of EE used to be E, and then they put in a rail down the middle and put bench backs on my side and E is now a half section, width-wise.

Old guys trying to preserve their youth. Sun in your eyes, ugly turf glare, outhouses... no thanks. As soon as I graduated I was all about the west side. You'll wonder why you didn't make the transition years ago. Sure, the west side is more subdued, but as long as you don't have old farts near you telling everyone to sit down and not be so loud, then it's fine.

West side rules. Shady, comfortable and new restrooms.Plus no one stands to block your view!

I love the comfort of the shady side (I'm an interloper - my best friend / former roommate is a season ticket holder in H or HH) but damn is it a boring area to watch a game. I'm encouraged seeing all of you moving to this side because it means some day we'll be able to do things like stand and cheer without being asked to sit down.

Yeah, the small E section vs. the extended EE section was confusing at first.

The seats are on the platform below the Cal logo:

We were way near the top of the stadium, just under the press box, in I. Wife was concerned about continuing to carry/escort the little one up all those stairs. Now in II about 20 rows up, just in front of the walkway. This will probably be our last move, as I'm tired of trying to accommodate everyone's wishes by myself on the reseating day.

My wife had foot surgery (old volleyball injury) and has a placard so I guess if they ever ask for credentials, we have them (at least for now).

I'm in EE row 47 as well!

Anyway, Section EE is the best. Been there since the remodel of Memorial. Having a roof over my head is a luxury I don't want to do without. Having a back on my seats, even a metal one, is a necessity these days.
Cal89

When my pop had hip surgery (full replacement), he had such a placard. We could have gone the ADA route, but knew (and hoped) that he wouldn't have it for long.

We sit right in front of such a section though, and really like it. There's more legroom than normal as the concrete wall behind is sufficiently far back. A free backrest so-to-speak. As stated earlier, standing, even on the bench, no problem. Another neat perk is the railing and posts on the ADA platform serve a great place to buckle and suspend one's pack so it's not taking-up seat space or sitting on the ground.

Sitting in the warmth of the CMS sun is something I really look forward to... The only time the sun gets on our faces, the right side, is late season, when it's cooler, so it's welcome.

I was in EE for the first 2 seasons after the renovation until I decided to become a nomad and buy single game tickets to experience different sections. I was in row 11 and it was great. There was a guy in one of the rows behind me who would always scream "come on Bears, let's do something!!!" every time we would get the ball. He had an air of desperation that only an Old Blue could have. It didn't seem to help the team much though considering how bad the 2012 and 2013 seasons were. He would also make frequent references to the 70s teams and how Roger Theder sucked as coach. Ah, to be a long suffering Cal fan...

Section DD Row 13 I believe, so I won't be too far from most everyone, although my son and I do tend to get loud! Looking forward to our first year of Cal football.
