sounds right. even if webb and the offense gel immediately and go nuts and match (even gasp exceed) last year's offense, we still have a defense with some serious depth issues, and talent issues at a couple positions. no matter what, this D is going to give up 45 at least once.

(I personally despise the BI "JUST DON't GET BLOWN OUT" crew. if you're not a 10 win team, you're almost assured of being blown out once or twice. Oregon can turn a 24-all tie into 52-24 in half a quarter with only a couple of mistakes. /rant)

Yeah. Sounds about right. I mean IMO there's no way we beat USC at the colliseum. It's just a house of horrors for us regardless of how strong or weak USC or we are. Stanford is also unlikely. I just feel that the furd is ultimately the giant gorilla on Dykes back. Something happens when we play them under dykes. They do some stuff like kick to McCaffrey or sit on the ball. Blah blah blah. Just stupid decisions that lose the game. Finally beating all four of UW WSU UO and UCLA is unlikely even if everything goes right. Everyone else we play is eminently beatable WITHOUT a whole lot of "things going right"

Now be fair MP - the team played pretty well. Sonny acknowledged he let the special teams coach talk him into it, and it was a huge mistake...and USC is very beatable this year- I think the Huskies and Bruins may be a tough assignment, but let's see how it all plays out...

I am bullish on the Bears this year- and I think the big surprise will not be that the offense is good, but because the DEFENSE is much improved....and you know what that means? We'll win more than our fair share of games, have an even better recruiting class, and next year is our championship year.

Pullman in the snow on 12 November, with a 7:00 p.m. start on FSN1. Missed field goal in the closing seconds.

Still pissed that we went 27 years with no wins up there (1979, 2006).

same feeling. usc is a shared gorilla between tedford and dykes. but dykes' struggles with the furd (and ucla / oregon i guess) are unique to him.

if we beat ucla or oregon we could find ourselves in the 7-8 win range. the tough games break a bit better than last year, when all 4 were in consecutive weeks. this time they're almost all at home and spread out.

i also don't have much reason to think the pac 12 will be generally stronger either. ucla ought to improve with rosen's 2nd year, and everyone has heard about UW. Oregon, SC and Stanford don't seem like they'd be any better though.

vegas is pretty confident on the mediocre season btw.

O/U 4.5 wins - Over pays +100
O/U 5 wins - over pays +180
O/U 5.5 wins - over pays +270

If you think we win 6, you can almost quadruple your money.
