I went to the 2011 game v. Utah at AT&T. It was about as boring as it gets. It was AT&T but it was also the game. So I am wondering why seats in section I are $110 on ATO when the same seats were $80 for Texas (way bigger name, was #11 at the time). That's some weird un-dynamic pricing.

I'm just here so I don't get fined.

Utes are an Indian tribe.

Any article I have seen in a local newspaper says Utahn. they also say beehive state residents.

They actually don't excite me. They're obviously a great program with the coach i'd want for our program. But I just don't feel any more for them than I would playing a good Oregon State team, possibly less. They're new, far, and I didn't grow up with any Utah alumni like I did with Furd, SC, LA. Even a bad Oregon team brings more familial feelings, given that they're the Bay's preferred lower tier safety school.

But damn do I respect their program.

Seats in I were $185 from the ATO for Texas (all benchbacks were). I'm pretty confident that I saw the amount right because I was playing the waiting game with stubhub and wanted to double check what the ATO had. Good news for me was I got great benchback seats for $95. The guy who had 4 tix and put out 2 on stubhub was definitely relieved when we walked in, too. I may never buy in advance again (until we have an actual sellout). Much easier to get a head count and try last minute instead of worry about eating tix. THe worst is buying from the ATO at a known price. But if it's possible to get benchbacks at well under the prorated cost for freaking horns down night, that says something. (Mostly, win or CMS will be even emptier next year as the mediocre football and TV holds continue to wear on the fan base)

I stand corrected. I did get tickets in II and they were $85 for Texas. So they are $60 for Utah.

UT and CO are the new Pac 12 kids on the block. There's just not that much history to make the game compelling. UT is the annoying school that beats us when they shouldn't, and when we beat them, nobody cares. Also their style of play makes Furd look exciting. CO was only good at losing in OT until last week when they got their first upset - a lucky win over an unranked Oregon team. I know logically we are supposed to care about every Pac 12 game, but even OSU there is that history of years of battling for the basement and all those weird games. Maybe in a few years it'll be different.

What's funny is that Utah got more pub when they were busting the BCS in 2004 and 2008 but now that they are in the PAC-12 they are just another program, regardless of records and rankings.

A serious question, but do we ever have any Utah posters come on here before our games? I can't really remember one. If you look at their board, there is just a bizarre amount of chest thumping. I mean it's what BI would like like if all the sunshine pumpers did a bunch of meth, killed all the nega bears and then posted a bunch of nonsense about how awesome we are while having an orgy with the Oregon cheerleading squad. If you think this board doesn't tolerate dissension, you should check them out some day.

I think everyone was relieved that the conventional wisdom was true, that you put a strong team from a lesser conferencesuch as Boise State or Utahinto a real conference where you have a bunch of tough games every year instead of just two (the big OOC win that gave them cred + the big bowl opponent) and life won't be so easy and glamorous. When Utah was suddenly no longer a concern about taking a precious BCS Bowl slot, no one cared.

They are very, very high on their offense and the awesome strides they've made. I watched their BYU game and their SC game and I have absolutely no idea what they are talking about.
