Wow, after Hawaii ran all over us I thought we were going to get stampeded by Pac 12 running games, but we've improved considerably. From the get go, it looked like we could play the pass pretty well, even though we had no pass rush. Now, we have some pass rush and we've been able to stop the run when necessary. I can only give props to our players and the coaching staff. Hats off to Art and the gang. If we can keep guys from slashing their throats, we could even be more dominant. Hopefully the injury bug won't bite us and we'll continue to improve. We are a very dangerous team right now. Sonny seems to have us on the right track. Hard to over estimate just how much it means to have a good quarterback. Ask Oregon and LSU how they like their QB. Somehow I think it helps to have a good passing scheme and to be chucking it almost every down. Having great receivers helps too. I get the hurry up spread'em out stuff now. I think we'll need to run the ball a little better to get to that next level though. Seems like we could, but we get a little pass happy. Sure is fun to watch though. Win or lose, a heck of a lot more exciting than the last 5 or 6 teams Tedford put on the field.

Agree with all of this. The one thing I would say about the run is that most of our plays seem to be up the middle, except for the occasional end-around. We have quick backs, especially Watson and Muhammad, and Vic is a load to bring down. I just wonder if we might do well mixing it up and running wide a bit more.

I think we ran 3 or 4 end arounds or reverses- most of them worked until Utah started looking for it. They were set up by the middle runs.

The first series, Webb barely looked at Hansen other than an obvious look off, and all the plays went to the other side or into the middle. On the first play after Utah adjusted their safety more to the middle, Webb threw the td to Hansen 1 on 1 with the db.
