So if furd wins, their long-awaited fall from the top is slowed. That's not good.
But if Colorado wins, it becomes even more clear we completely shite the bed by choosing a guy who had one 9-3 season at Louisiana Tech over local guy MacIntyre. That's also not good.

Let's be serious, most of the members of this board would have fired McIntyre last year before he could even get to this point.

That's assuming he would have been a cellar-dweller for 3 years here just like at Colorado. That might not have happened. We'll never know, unless some Back to the Future Part 2 type stuff goes down.
Saying Colorado beating Stanford would be proof of Cal "Shiteing the bed" for not hiring a coach that went 2-25 in league the 3 seasons coming into this year is pretty comical. The who knows what he would've done at Cal qualifier does nothing to make it an obviously moronic decision to go a different direction than Mac, who incidentally interviewed terribly by many accounts..

Fair enough......I'll admit I may be guilty of turning "What if we screwed up by not hiring Mac?" into "We screwed up by not hiring Mac".
I still stand behind rooting for the giant meteor in today's game though.

Well, Colorado's success certainly speaks well of Colorado's patience in enduring three hideous seasons for this year's payoff. I just don't think our fan base would've had the same patience.
The trick is to know when it's hopeless and pull the plug like what should've been done with Holmoe vs. when you see enough internal positives to lead you to believe that patience is the best course of action.

being honest his meltdowns would have probably led me to pulling the plug if i was colorado's admin... but i guess patience has paid off in this case.

Colorado went 2-25 in it's first three seasons? We know for a fact that the negabears would either be calling for his head.
Stanford's lucky they're in this game as much as they are. Two CU drives stalled and they missed two easy field goals so far.

Furd destroyed Colorado 48-0 a few years ago (during that awful period when the trees blew out every other Pac-12 team in their own stadium at least once) so the Buffs owe them some payback.

I'm feeling much better about our team watching this Stanford O. My God they are bad.
Stanfraud's QB is pure dookie. If we can't stack the box and stop mcaffery this year, I will be very disappointed.

I probably should have said contain mcaffery, not stop. I'd be happy giving up 200 rushing and 100 passing.
Shaw's program is finally coming down to earth. It was mostly Harbaugh's work. Same with Oregon and Helfrich/Kelly. Two P12N juggernauts coming down, one rising in Seattle.

Great weekend.
I was only able to watch bits of the game but it's good to hear that y'all think Cal should have a good chance to beat the furdies. And we know UCLA is very beatable. It could be a great home season for da Bears, even if Udub kicks our ass.

Yes!
OK, now that furd has lost, I can see why it's good they lost (even if it comes with a side of "should we have hired Mac?" angst). It's unlikely CU becomes a multi-year Rose Bowl fixture, but it's nice to see our rival, who actually did that, get cut down to size.
This should quiet the furdies' talk about how they'll have better home attendance than we do.
