So... you're gloating about calling a 2OT game a "lock?" A game that was won via an entirely unexpected interception that probably saved us from a loss?

I thought Cal had a great shot, and I'm as thrilled as anyone that they did, but I'm not sure that the result totally validates your original confidence.

In any event, where do you see our remaining two wins coming? I would say Furd and fUCLA are our best shots.

It should have never come down to 2OT - we were handling them pretty well and then they just got hot late.

As for remaining 2 wins: Stanford for sure, UCLA highly likely, and WSU likely

I'm actually even feeling pretty good about USC

I don't understand what your purpose of gloating is, or who you're gloating against. I don't think the majority of Cal fans on this board thought we were going to lose to Oregon. Could any of us guarantee it? I don't think any legit Cal fan can guarantee any wins this year with the bipolar way we play (supported by all the close games).

If you were 100% confident that Cal would win, despite a vast majority of fans on this board feel otherwise, then fine, gloat away. I just don't believe that was the case against Oregon...

I actually have money on Cal going to a bowl game, so I'll gloat (hopefully) when that happens. If you don't care about the spread, I'd happily make a bet with you straight up this week with Cal v. USC. Put your money where your mouth is. (And yes, despite the odds, I did bet on Cal to cover.)

I wouldn't call UW a lock loss. They might be ranked but that non conference of Rutgers, Portland St, and Idaho isn't exactly SDSU, Texas, and Hawaii. They are a Browning injury and a few TOs from mediocrity.

I don't know about lock, but I don't think anyone felt hopeless about beating Oregon. We all knew they were riding a 4-game losing streak and just got 70 dropped on them by UW. I think the thought was more along the lines of, "if we can't beat Oregon under these circumstances then it may never happen." You know, the same line 1BTF always tells us every year about $C.

Eeking out a win in 2OT is hardly a validation of a prediction of a "lock."

I'll laugh at anyone who has had this Cal team as a lock over anyone not named Hawaii. By the same token, I believe that, if things fall favorably, we're capable of beating anyone left on our schedule. As long as Webb and at least 3 receivers are healthy, we can score points; as long as we can score, we can win. That said, I still see more disappointment than joy the rest of the way.
