Hoping Goff makes an appearance tomorrow at the game. SC is going down!
After the game Mooch was gushing about Goff. The other announcers too. They mentioned during the game his release is quicker. They did a little "Hollywood intro" of Goff and his turnaround this season. He's getting quite a bit of attention.Rushinbear said:
Thank you. Announcers said very little about Goff on those plays. Seldom mentioned his name. All about the receivers.
Rams fans knew Goff was good last year, but the offense was just horrible. The management brought in an offensive-minded coach and revamped the OL and WR. Suddenly Goff and Gurley look good - receivers are catching balls instead of dropping them, OL is blocking instead of waving at defenders. The new coaches spent the off season helping Goff improve his technique and release speed.BGGB2 said:

His last year here, I told a buddy I knew he'd be great in the NFL because he had spent 3 years learning how to side step the rush, step up in the pocket, and make tough throws with pressure in his face. A little paradoxically, Cal's horrible offensive line developed him into a great quarterback.bearister said:
"You know what I like about him? In games, he does not f---- flinch. He's mentally tough, in good times and bad, and that's exactly what you want your quarterback to be like. Because it's an occupational hazard: Bad things are gonna happen when you play this position." Sean McVay

He also has the top passer rating in the NFL for passes that travel more than 20 yards downfield. TOP!TheSouseFamily said:
Now 4th in passing rating for 2017 and ahead of Brady, Rodgers, Ryan, Brees, Wilson, Roethlisberger, etc. Only 3 games in - and aided by some tame competition - but he's off to a blazing start.

His accuracy both in the pocket and outside of the pocket was very impressive.BGGB2 said:

It's funny you mention stepping up in the pocket because the commentators (who usually can't say something insightful to save their lives) pointed out the Goff was walking back into tackles instead of stepping up into the pocket. I started watching just that, and it's true. He looked great last night, but he does really need to work on doing his drop then stepping up into the pocket, it will improve his play even more.GMP said:His last year here, I told a buddy I knew he'd be great in the NFL because he had spent 3 years learning how to side step the rush, step up in the pocket, and make tough throws with pressure in his face. That long ball down the left/far sideline against the 49ers was a thing of beauty. Dropped in a bucket as they say.Calcoholic said:He also has the top passer rating in the NFL for passes that travel more than 20 yards downfield. TOP!TheSouseFamily said:
