We have an answer to the annual question of who will be the first USC football athlete-student to be charged with a felony. This year's winner is DL Liam Jimmons. Well, technically he hasn't been charged yet but WSU Police have recommended felony assault charges to the prosecutors office for Jimmon's actions in blindsiding and trucking a fan that stormed the field after the WSU win over USC earlier this year. Congratulations!

Ah, I saw the video back then but I had no idea that they would be able to identify the player. Awesome.

Felony? He was just enforcing the Pac 12 no storming the field rule.

"Jimmons is a redshirt freshman from Huntington Beach, California, who has registered three tackles so far this season as a reserve." You mean that doesn't count as a fourth?

I think it is bs. Those fans should not be on the field technically. If you do enter at your own risk.

if you punch people you run the risk of an assault charge

I think the risk you run is falling, or being accidentally trampled. Being knocked on purpose is a bit beyond that. If the USC lineman had accidentally knocked him out or accidentally stepped on him, this wouldn't be an issue and everyone would be tearing into the random fan.
