He's going back as assistant head coach with no assignment determined yet. I wonder if this was Jonathan Smith's idea or something the AD is insisting on. It should be interesting to watch.

It's interesting how Oregon St. & Mike Riley can be wildly successful when together but neither can be remotely successful when they are separate.

Oregon St. had some good (putting it mildly) seasons under Erickson.

"Wildly successful"??? Only within the context of OSU's overall history.

who says you can't go home again.......

I still remember when we were #4, Riley had one play to miss a pass make the win, tried to run it, the clock went to zero, and Oregon State beat us

Hated them ever since

#2 I thought.

LSU lost at #1. Cal could have been #1 the next day (though also might have been jumped given we needed a last second score to win).

I never hated OSU. They were pretty well known to blow an easy game, but always up for their highly ranked opponents. We should have been ready, since it was far from the first time they snuck up on a team.

I didnt even have an issue with that game. Everyone freaked out, but it was the complete lack of leadership after that was the problem. Losing happens to almost every team. Finishing the season 1-5 doesnt.
