I know this is one of those questions that sometimes invites derision, but, given our new-found lack of top-end speed at WR, could Ashtyn Davis help us out at the position?

He's fast as the wind and, since he returned kicks for us last season, he can't exactly have hands of stone.

Or do we keep him on defense and just start to shine the spotlight on Taariq Johnson?

The staff might actually be somewhat more qualified than me to make this call, though. Just thought I'd toss it out there.

I think it makes a lot of sense to have any fast DBs with good hands, especially backups, play at least some time on the other side of the ball. If only to run a few long routes, stretch the D and tire out opposition DBs.

Good thought for sure

Even if they don't throw it to him, he could be a good decoy burner on a couple plays.

Davis was a major disappointment in the KR game last year. He may be "track" fast but I doubt he would add anything to our offense or ST play this year especially in light of losing DRob. Pass on him being a WR...

I don't think we can effectively replace DRob in any sense.
But we could move on and develop a different strategy based on the weapons we do have.
A lot of WR is about route running, blocking and knowing your assignments.
Ashtyn would have to learn all of that and that is not easy or advisable.

Sonny would, but I don't see Wilcox, being a defensive-oriented head coach, allowing his starting safety to be distracted.
