No, it won't happen.
There is too much $$$ at stake, and
tOSu has very deep pockets.

Exactly....nothing will happen to Urban

Yup. Doubt he even has to say a word about this situation.

Btw, isn't this almost identical to the situation with Coach Mac and one of his assistants at CU?

Urban won't be head coach by Monday night.

The next time there is a Monday night.

What did Urban's predecessor get fired for? Tattoos, right?

Pretty sure that Tattoo-gate was a specific violation of the NCAA's impermissible benefits rule, so a major rule was broken under Tressel's watch and then he lied to his superiors about it. The lying was at least as a big an issue as the rule breaking.

I'm not sure any NCAA rules were broken here, although some folks are saying Title IX investigation might be next?

Urban's as crooked and dirty as they come, but I'd be surprised if he doesn't survive this. That said, if he suddenly develops "chest pains" this week at practice and needs to go visit the doctor, watch out.

In fact, he will be deified with a 20' statue (in scarlet and gray enamel) of him standing with a football under one arm and his other arm across Joe Pa's shoulders and wearing pink shades.

On the off topic forum, somebody called football the ultimate meritocracy.

Yet the only reason this guy survived with Meyer was because he was Urban Meyer's mentor's grandson.

Retiring to spend more time with his family. In a couple of years, he'll take another job, but, for some reason, won't say he's doing it to spend less time with his family.

The guy who built Florida with a bunch of thugs who would go on to rack up arrests probably did not care too much that one of his coaches was a scumbag.

Says here that Urban messed with the wrong sports reporter.

That said, I would not be at all surprised if "the" Ohio State University, after a lengthy and detailed probe, determines that Urban had never been apprised of the situation by his wife due to [insert mind-numbing rationalizations here].

I don't root for people to fail, but I am rooting hard for this particular guy to not be able to snake his way out of this one. He's Petrino-level sleazy.

Speaking of CU, Title IX, and Coach MacIntyre, a federal judge recently dismissed the lawsuit againt the University of Colorado and university officials:

https://www.denverpost.com/2018/07/19/tumpkin-lawsuit-cu-officials-dismissed/

"Defendants' alleged failure to follow the university's rules and policies did not increase the risk of harm to (Fine) given that, as someone with no affiliation with or connection to the university, she was not within the group of individuals that the policies were designed to protect"

Anyone think Meyer would've been put on leave even two years ago?

Urban better get his PR team together soon, because it's not looking good for him right now. Meyer and OSU separating would be a refreshing result in a new world where accountability seems to be going the way of the dodo.

With our luck, he'll get fired and then go to USC after Helton gets canned.

I doubt that USC, which is swamped by sexual abuse and misconduct scandals, is going to hire a guy accused of covering up domestic abuse.

I really don't get it. Now, if you employ a scumbag, you can get tossed aside? When did we all become the morality police? When does it stop? It's just so ridiculous. Courtney Smith was fine with Urban Meyer being in charge until her husband got fired. But what choice did he have? He was damned if he did, damned if he didn't. And how does firing the guy help the situation? If he loses his livelihood, you think that will make the situation better? You think Ray Rice being blackballed by the NFL made life better for his wife?

Yup, you really don't get it.

A $7.6 million per year coach who holds enormous powerful and responsibility may have egregiously violated his contract.

VIOLATED HIS CONTRACT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's what this is all about.

Also, he possibly egregiously lied to the media last week.

If he egregiously violated his contract and covered up for an alleged abuser, and then lied about it -- well, he is a terrible leader isn't he?

And firing the guy sends the message that domestic violence is bad and not to be tolerated. A football program, especially a family-friendly overly scrutinized one, doesn't want to be associated with domestic violence.

Just like a family-friendly football program that I happen to be a part of doesn't want to be associated with prostitution and sex trafficking.

This guy was given way too many chances -- he doesn't deserve his $340,000 a year salary.

If you keep giving the guy chances, you're sending a message that abuse is okay. And the cycle will keep repeating itself.

The second tweet in my first post was by the guy who runs the main Ohio State football forum.

Basically, it seems, Zach Smith lucked into a great gig because of his bloodlines, even though he reportedly sucks at his job.

$340,000 a year!

And he threw it all away. It's his fault. Nobody else's. And now he'll be making a tiny percentage of that.

Can someone that's read up on both situations please explain how this is different from the situation last year with Coach Mac at CU other than the fact that Ohio State/Urban are newsworthy and no one cares about CU?
