Once they signed the kicker and holder from Florida, the writing was on the wall. GT never really had a chance....

Another reason to hate the Raiders. Adding it to the list. Good luck in Vegas boys, you are going to need it.

Tavecchio was an early season feel-good story for Oakland, signing the day before the Raiders' season opener at Tennessee with Sebastian Janikowski, the franchise's all-time leading scorer, being placed on injured reserve. Tavecchio made all four of his field-goal attempts (from 20, 52, 52 and 43 yards) in their 26-16 victory in Nashville.

But he faltered midseason, missing 5 of 11 in one stretch, including a missed PAT in a 17-16 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Oct. 15. He finished 16-for-21 on his field goal attempts, 33-for-34 on PATs.

+1. Now that I am a full time Rams fan I can be more candid about the Raiders:

1. Derrick Carr may be a nice young man but he has slowly but surely been gyroscoping back to his true mediocre baseline;
2. Gruden was grossly overpaid and can only disappoint.

I hope Goff spanks the Raiders on 9/10 BIG TIME!

Picked up by the Falcons this week...

TAVECCHIO hits two FGs @ 50 and 56 yards.

Yep missed one. Can't get to 23 without 3 FGs.

Untelated the Giants are dumb. Really dumb. Two QB sneaks to burn 40 seconds of clock with an old ass QB. Shoulda sent Eli packing last year and kept Webb.

I'd take Webb over Carr. Gruden is going to send Reggie McKenzie and Carr packing.

Tavecchio has a one year $550,000 contract. I'd take that!

I posted this on the Insider Board earlier:

I really hope someone picks him up after Matt Bryant returns from his injury. Giorgio should be on an NFL roster somewhere. Also, Gruden is not very smart for cutting Giorgio. Giorgio's replacement has not been stellar...

The Raiders should have never cut Georgio. He's much better than the other bums the Raiders have tried since Janikowski, including their current kicker. Georgio definitely has a career somewhere in the NFL.

Was great to see him in there, and hitting that big one!

They mentioned that he and the holder had only 3 days to work out together, and that the holder had never held for a left-footed kicker. Guess they got it figured out?

I thought the broadcasters had said that Tavecchio was brought in to replace an injured Doug Brien. But I'm thinking I misheard, as I thought (Cal's) Doug Brien was out of the league already...???

Da Raiders are unloading EVERYONE. Mack, Cooper, who else? Is Carr next?

On the flip side, they're stock piling draft picks. I think they have 2 first round picks in the next two drafts. They robbed Dallas blind.

Chuckie looks out of sorts but I think the real game plan was a gut job or tear down/rebuild from the beginning. It's going to be interesting to see who he picks and if he can coach again, because he's not coaching now.

Any way...good for Giorgio!

Actually, they have 3 first round picks in the next two years. They would have been better to unload Carr and keep Mack and Cooper. Derek Carr is following the same career path as his brother David. Wouldn't be surprised to see him out of the NFL in 4 years.

Derek Carr has a dead cap number of $32.5 million in 2018 which drops to $7.5 million in 2019 (compared to a $22.5 mil cap hit in 2019 if kept on the team). Not even sure one would even need to trade him to see benefits.

Carr has never won a big game. When he throws a INT, it's not even close. Either Adios or Hello Las Vegas!

I think they should have kept Mack but Cooper is over rated and has a case of dropsies. Elite edge rushers are difficult to find and that's why Chicago gave him that big contract. The Rams wanted to sign him for year but Chicago stepped in. Imagine Mack with Donald and Suh as the DL.

Turns out Da Raiders have 3 first round picks in '19, and 2 more in 2020. It's going to be interesting to see how this plays out, and I'm not a Raiders fan.

Playing for the future seems like a good financial plan when you have to sell tickets and psl's in your future city, not current one. Oakland should really sitck it to the Raiders and give them the boot after this year, unless the lease next year is truly financially advantageous.

This. They want to go, so go. Doesn't Las Vegas High School have a field? NO fans should show up to see them next year, if they stay here. Marshawn, Bearister and I can help man the blockade outside the Coliseum, if any idiots want to try and enter.

It looks like they're following the Rams model: new city, new stadium, better team. It makes sense, winning will get fans in seats. That said, Vegas coughed up how much money, a state ballot initiative? Few places in Caloifornai will fund a pro sports stadium/arena, minus Santa Clara. I see that a good thing. Like billionaires need help funding private enterprise. You know FCCK that.

I'm pretty sure the Grand Ballroom at the Venetian Hotel is big enough to accommodate a regulation football field. They can bring in some of those slot machine chairs for any fans that stray in. Mark Davis can sit above the ceiling and look through the two way mirrors they use to catch cheaters.
