My wife's lasted ~24 hours and let me tell you, nothing makes you feel as helpless as seeing the woman you love in the amount of pain that she is going to be in and realizing that no amount of breathing or coaching is going to stop the pain or really do anything during the actual contractions. There were moments where I swear she couldn't even see me or that anything in the world existed other than dealing with the pain. I lived in Michigan for a while and never met anyone named "Michigan". IMHO, that would be a strange name.

I also would advice against Asher as that sounds too much like the girl name Ashly (and variation thereof).

Wife Strong like Calbear80's strong idea for name. But Cal Strong a little peeved that now there another strong name in mix. From Cal Strong's perspective, we need eliminate names, not add more names. And Cal Strong's perspective usually pretty strong.

But Calbear80's suggestion now in the mix. So it must be pretty strong suggestion.

Asher strong family name. Cal Strong like Michigan as name.

Cal Strong thank Calbear80 from bottom of his big strong Cal heart. If we do end up naming Baby Strong "Caleb Moses" then we give Calbear80 free tickets to 2040 Rose Bowl when Baby Strong lead Cal to victory.

You can always have an another baby but this is probably the only chance you'll ever have in your entire lifetime to see Cal play Idaho State. Seems like a no brainer to me.

For the name of your newborn child, I think you have proposed some wonderful options. But may I suggest:

Hugh Janus Strong

Hugh is a traditional, strong man's name which commands respect. Janus was a lesser-known Biblical character known for his valor at the Battle of the Red Sea and he spent much of his life in the Sinai -- so apropos!

I hope you like and will consider my suggestion. And, please, say hello to your wife for me.
