Potential losses on the schedule include an away game at Utah, an away game at Oregon (the OU QB looked great in week 1), an away game at WSU (rivalry game, always tough) and a home game against Stanford. They probably win their other games but a loss in any of those 4 tough games will knock them out of the NC playoffs. I will be looking forward to hearing the puppies howl when they get loss number two. Luckily they have North Dakota this weekend which is the usual sort of OOC team the Huskies schedule. They should have stuck to cupcake OOC opponents. Why mess with a formula that works? Browning impressed me, though. I thought he would wilt under Auburn's rush but he got settled and showed the world he is not only a good college QB but a potential NFL star.

The harsh reality is the Pac-12 needs some post season success. I would say its starting to reach a critical stage...it doesn't help anyone if the conference falls to the level of basketball (sans UA), and its an after-thought in terms of national prominence.

UW has playoff and National Championship aspirations. Their recruiting is not at those elite levels, at least yet. Averaging 3rd best in the Pac-12 might not get them there.

If Auburn is a playoff team this season, then UW is pretty damn good. They racked-up 400 yards against Auburn's D. They passed against it at over 9 yards per attempt. If a team must lose, do so early, to a damn good team, make it close, and on the road. Check.

UW must take care of the likes of Utah and WSU. I think they will. They don't play Southern Cal, but might get them in Pac-12 Championship. They have Stanford at home.

To be honest I do not think that UW carrying the water for the PAC 12 means anything for the conference. No one remembers when they were good 30 years ago...they are not nationally relevant anymore. Having USC, Stanford or event Oregon go undefeated would be better for the conference than hoping a one loss UW gets to the playoffs.

UCLA is a train wreck and will get blown out today and that will drag us down. Bears better win tonight if the PAC 12 does not want to be a laughing stock and the ND games should be telling.

I think UW is currently our best hope for a national impact (Pac-12, west coast football). They are also the most senior or experienced team in he Pac-12 in 2018, just ahead of us. This is likely their best shot, compared to past seasons. They have a recruiting upside still, that Southern Cal has enjoyed, like forever. Averaging about 3.2 star classes, and reaching those heights is impressive..

Possible surprise best team in the Pac 12 is Oregon. We will see how they play against good competition for the first time on 9/22. Their quarterback is scary good so far--like really, really good. They get their toughest two opponents--Stanford and UE--at home. Would be a shocker but Oregon could run the table, win the Pac 12 and go to the playoffs.

UW is good but not top 4 in the country good. They will lose again and be out of the playoff picture. Oklahoma QB is not looking too impressive so Pac 12 and Big 12 will be battling for which conference is worst and gets left out of the playoffs.
