We all know, of course, that Monday night's game pits Davis Webb's successor vs. his predecessor.
But here's some more dumb trivia:
Goff was the first Cal football player selected 1st overall in the NFL Draft since Steve Bartkowski in 1975.
Bartkowski was also the last former Cal QB to start for the Los Angeles Rams before Goff. (Bartkowski started the first few games of 1986, rookie Jim Everett started the last few games of 1986.)
Bartkowski was the first QB signed by superagent Leigh Steinberg, who has represented more than 100 NFL QBs.
The last QB signed by Steinberg: Patrick Mahomes.
Mahomes appears to be using an Apple iPhone in the picture below. (Hopefully, I'm not mistaken.)
Steinberg was an R.A. at Unit 3 Norton Hall in fall of 1971 when he got to know members of the Cal football team who lived in the dorm, including then-freshman Steve Bartkowski. (Steinberg was a UC Berkeley law student in his late 20s at the time.)
One of the Norton Hall residents Steinberg had to supervise in fall 1971 was Steve Wozniak. The future Apple co-founder and his 16-year-old pal, Steve Jobs, would get into all kinds of shenanigans in Norton Hall, including phone phreaking. Wozniak also used his first floor dorm room for him and Jobs' meeting with legendary hacker Captain Crunch.
Anybody got any more dumb trivia?
