If you get there two hours early, you should be fine. 1 hour early is likely to be fine, but could be a risk. Anything less than an hour before kickoff is a huge gamble, imo.

Who knows? If nobody cares more about bobbleheads than about tailgates, then maybe not all that early. Especially since Cal doesn't allow exit and re-entry, it is cruel to ask people to choose between their traditions/friends and getting a cool bobblehead. Tell your "friend" to drop for a Stadium Club ticket from the entrepeneurial folks on Piedmont, get his prized bobblehead, then go up to the Stadium Club and begin drowning his/her sorrows in the free booze.

Cal, the people that get paid to go there opposed to those that pay, don't give a rats ass about one's friend's or traditions.

Judging by the Marshawn bobble head day, you should be able to get one one hour before kickoff. I waited in line for the gates to open thinking they would be gone right away but that was not the case. Then I walked around the stadium since there was nothing to do.

Another reason the game should be starting at 1 or 2. I really would like the BG bobblehead as it will go great with my framed "Miracle at Memorial" Daily Cal and 82 ticket signed by Joe Kapp, but I just don't see me getting into the stadium before 1130.

If someone snags me an extra bobblehead and sends it to me, I will in kind send a Hawaiian treat package with coffee, mac nuts, and chocolates lol. PM me if you are willing! I guess the deal doesn't happen until you actually secure one, but let me know if you would be open to doing it.

Any ebay experts out there? What will likely be the price of The Play bobblehead after the BG?

My guess is $50 out the gate, and settling into $30. You can preorder one right now for $99, from someone who obviously intends to get there early.

Whoa, careful: If you enter the stadium too late, you might miss the Stanford Band pre-game show.

Because this is The Big Game, a lot of Stanford fans will be picking up those bobbleheads. And they'll probably put em up on eBay for $100. And I'll be paying for one of them, but I wish my money could instead go to Cal.

Nah, as I said - this is people who plan to get one and are trying to make the sale early before the market gets saturated. Note that none of them use any photos other than those released by Cal marketing, and even if you choose "Buy It Now", they all estimate shipping on or after December 7. And all three sellers are located in the Bay Area (SF, Oakland, Millbrae).

Thanks for that. I think I will forgo the bobblehead and arrive just in time for the Cal Band so I don't have to endure the Stanford thing they call a band. And plan on drinking during halftime to also avoid their "show".

If I go early to get the bobble head ... will the beer garden inside the stadium at least be open? Anyone know when the beer garden opens up in general? Is it only midway through the second quarter?

I waited a year and a half and got the Marshawn bobblehead for $50 on eBay. Albeit without the box*.

I really want one now, but I'll wait. Because Kevin Moen won't be as popular or as costly as Marshawn, I'm guessing.

(*The weird thing is they give you a box. And you want to save the box because it's a cool box. But what do you do with the box? Hang it up somewhere? Fold it flat and post it in storage? Put it in a protective case so it won't be creased?)

Definitely open pregame, but I'm not sure when it opens. My guess is you'll be happy.
