Asking for a friend
Who knows? If nobody cares more about bobbleheads than about tailgates, then maybe not all that early. Especially since Cal doesn't allow exit and re-entry, it is cruel to ask people to choose between their traditions/friends and getting a cool bobblehead. I'll take the traditions/friends over the bobblehead anyday, so there is no way I'm up to the stadium before 11:40, maybe later, but there are people who aren't tailgating, and there are people who will want to try to get a bobblehead.SBGold said:

Haven't you figured this out yet?Cal8285 said:Who knows? If nobody cares more about bobbleheads than about tailgates, then maybe not all that early. My guess is $50 out the gate, and settling into $30. You can preorder one right now for $99, from someone who obviously intends to get there early.BearBones said:
Any ebay experts out there? What will likely be the price of The Play bobblehead after the BG?
Whoa, careful: If you enter the stadium too late, you might miss the Stanford Band pre-game show.Cal8285 said:Who knows? Okay, didn't see that. That's fair. Can't have any RED in a Cal thing.oobay said:
His trombone is.
Nah, as I said - this is people who plan to get one and are trying to make the sale early before the market gets saturated. Note that none of them use any photos other than those released by Cal marketing, and even if you choose "Buy It Now", they all estimate shipping on or after December 7. And all three sellers are located in the Bay Area (SF, Oakland, Millbrae).Bears2thDoc said:
You could always try to go to the marketing department and ask for one ahead of time....
Apparently that's what multiple people did....
as seen by the ones already on ebay.....
including the one that is being sold by 81calbear......
It's his "big ticket item,"......
Everything else he sells is less than 10 bucks.
Cheers!
Go Bears!!!
Alas, getting bobbleheaded remains unfulfilled on my list of life goals. Thanks for your interest!Another Bear said:
If Gary T were part of "The Play" Bobblehead, then it would be worthy to get there at 10 a.m. Nothing against Kevin Moen (a great Bear), he might even agree.

They only give it away to former Cal players and friends of the program. I've seen a player -- whose name I forget -- post pics of it a few weeks back.

If we win, I'll want to buy one too.okaydo said:
Because this is The Big Game, a lot of Stanford fans will be picking up those bobbleheads. And they'll probably put em up on eBay for $100. And I'll be paying for one of them, but I wish my money could instead go to Cal.
Definitely open pregame, but I'm not sure when it opens. My guess is you'll be happy.fat_slice said:
If I go early to get the bobble head ... will the beer garden inside the stadium at least be open? Anyone know when the beer garden opens up in general? Is it only midway through the second quarter?
