Apparently, there's hope (in 2024).

2024? Great Leader's third record setting vote total?

I don't think Scott will be around to enjoy his oversized cut.

These say nothing articles are starting to make me angry. They are all the same and say nothing new.

Larry only wishes the p12net decisions will help in 2024.

And waiting it out makes him 4.8mil a year whether it is true or not.

At the same time, the p12 is not really that far behind the B12 (I would guess they'd be almost even if not for the much greater spending in the p12 office). Ahead of the ACC. So if the league is behind those two, it's all on the conference members.

the article said a lot to me, which is that the p12 will be in the poor house for the next 5 years. (At which rate, we'll be competitive with the MWC.)

"In absolute terms, the Pac-12 is nowhere near the poor house. Since Scott took over what was then the Pac-10 in 2009, the conference's revenue has grown to $500 million from $100 million, and the average annual per-school payout to $31 million from $9 million.

But Big Ten members anticipate receiving more than $50 million from the conference this fiscal year because of a new television agreement. SEC members get roughly $41 million from the conference. The Pac-12 will most likely soon be last among the five major conferences in the average annual amount received by conference members, also trailing the Big 12 and the Atlantic Coast Conference, after the ACC Network, owned by ESPN, launches next year."

Kinda hard to recruit and pay assistant coaches (in high COLA's) -- assistants who are your best recruiters -- when you are dead last in income. For example, Saban pays Tosh $1.1M/yr as as Assistant.

The Olympic sports are fun, but football and men's b'ball pay the bills. If we can't be competitive in those sports, I predict a continued downward spiral.

But let's be real here. Is it the extra $15 million Alabama gets from the SEC or the extra $80 million they get from football donations/tickets over a school like Cal that allows them to pay their coaches?

And there's no reason the P12 can't compete with the big 12 or ACC.
