“There was no recruiting process for me.”

Ashtyn Davis sits in the press box of Memorial Stadium on a mid-May afternoon as a platform and chairs are placed on the turf below for commencement ceremonies.

The statement isn’t totally true. There was a process, albeit an unorthodox one. It began and ended on the first weekend of June 2014 at Buchanan High School in Clovis, at the California state track meet.

His speed is what distinguishes him from many other players on the field. We don't have too many like him in that category
