How Can I Watch Or Listen To Cal-Davis Game In The East Coast (On The Road)?

I am a long-time loyal Cal fan and need your advice.

I will start a solo drive from Washington DC to Los Angeles on Saturday August 31 around noon EST. The Cal-Davis game kicks of at 6:30 PM EST (3:30 PM PST). So, I will be on the road somewhere in the West Virginia or Western Pennsylvania or Eastern Ohio or who knows. I am pretty flexible about my travel path and on the first day I can take any road westward that lets me catch the Cal game.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to stop (around six hours west of DC) to watch the game (the game is on PAC-12 Network which is not very popular in the East Coast/Midwest)?

If not, does anyone (hello techies!) know how can I listen to the game (the game is on KGO 810 AM) on my car radio or on my I-Phone?

Your help will be acknowledged with a special "gift" bought on my path (Route 66?) or a drink before one of the future Cal games.

Go Bears, Beat the Aggies!

P.S. Staying in DC for Saturday to catch the game is not a good option as I need to get on the road on Saturday mid-day because there is so much to see, and, never enough time.

P.S.S. I would welcome your suggestions on what route to take and what to see across our great country (major cities, National Parks and Monuments?). I did the Coast to Coast drive twice 38 and 37 years ago primarily via the northern highways 90, 80 and 70. I have visited all the 50 states, but, I want to see more of the south. So, this time it is most likely going to be the southern highways 40, 10, etc. I am flexible on what road to take as long as I get to LA in about 10 days. Life is good!

If you get Pac-12 network at home, you can download the app and watch on your phone.

For radio, I believe the app is TuneIn - you can probably even listen to the Davis radio broadcast there if you get violently ill listening to Starkey.

As for driving: get your kicks on Route 66!

Sling TV is my option this year. Will see how it goes. Already liking it but will try the DVR feature Saturday.

Another option: get the Sling TV app and DVR option. Record the game and watch when you stop. I've watch a game or two on the iPad. It's fine for something like this.

If you happen to have satellite radio in your car, the game appears to be on channel 197.

socaligan has your best video option unless you have Pac 12 app working. As for radio, either the Tune-in app or Sirius XM will have the game. I prefer Tune-In because on occasion their coverage extends a little bit into the postgame show. IPTVs will have the game as well, and while I'm not advocating them, if you happen to be overseas.......

do you think Buffalo Wild Wings in the East Coast would show PAC-12 Network?

I'd call and ask, calbear80. Many times establishments will put a game on if they think it will bring in business.

Pac 12 Network suffers from a bad lack of carriage. As far as i know only FUBO streams all the various Pac 12 regional channels. There are other streaming services that offer Pac 12, but most only provide the "national feed". So if a Cal game isn't the marquee game (sorry for the possible spelling error), then it won't be on the national feed.

Good question. I believe so. It's worth a call. They'd be able to tell you.

If they carry the channel, which I think they do, they have enough TVs to feature all the games, and they certainly would if a patron requested.

Sadly, the rest of the country only care about the L.A. schools in (USC in particular).

For the Pac-12 to maximize visibility and grow, they have to get better (the conference sucks), and USC and UCLA have to come back to national prominence.

The route I'd recommend is :
Highway 50 from DC to Winchester
I-81 south thru Virginia (maybe stop in Harrisonburg for the game). If you have time drive at least part of the Blue Ridge Parkway, beautiful drive, but may be crowded this weekend.
I-40 in Tennessee to Knoxville
I-75 south to Chattanooga
I-58 south to Birmingham then 1-22 west to Memphis (I haven't driven this, but you'll see some of the South)
1-40 west from Memphis to New Mexico
At Santa Rosa NM, take U.S. 54 south, then U.S. 70 over to White Sands National Monument (I highly recommend visiting White Sands).
1-25 back up to Albuquerque, then 1-40 across New Mexico & Arizona

Tons of interesting places to visit on this route. Unless you are planning to visit New Orleans, I wouldn't recommend I-10, especially across Texas.

Have a safe & enjoyable trip.

Thank you BGolden. Great Advice! I will incorporate at the least some of your recommendations in my path.

Thank you all for all of your advice and recommendations. Very much appreciated.

I am thinking about attending the Maryland-Howard game (noon EST) game or the Navy-Holy Cross game (3:30 EST) before leaving the DC area. Yes, crazy college football fan.

Somewhere on the road, I'll catch Cal-Davis game (6:30 PM EST) on TV or on the radio (all of your advice on how to do that is very helpful)

Most likely, this afternoon/evening, I'd head east on Highway 50 (six hours from DC ) to Athens, Ohio (personal interest). Tonight, I'd to catch the late post game festivities of Ohio U-Rhode Island game (2 PM EST, there is no way I can make it to the game) in Athens (one of my very favorite pure college towns).

Tomorrow, most likely, I'd head south from Athens through Cincinnati to Louisville to catch Louisville-Norte Damr game (Sunday 8 PM EST). Yes, really crazy college football fan!

Probably, way too ambitious, so, if I do 1/3 of the above, I am have done well.

After Sunday night, there is no more college football games, so, I can figure it out and hit the westward highways.

Go Bears, Beat Davis!

If you are near any college campus call the local student hangouts and ask if they do.
Two years ago I was in rural Pennsylvania near Lehigh University and was looking to watch the Cal game.
I called several pubs and bars around the college. Found one that boasted the largest number of screens in the area. And asked.
Sure enough the said they would make it a point to have the game on at least one screen if I showed up and asked.
I did and they did.
BTW I was the only person watching the Cal game. Everyone else was watching East Coast and Midwest games.
BTW the local Buffalo Wild Wings did not have the PAC-12 channel.

Update:

I will be attending the Navy-Holy Cross game at 3:30 EST* (going 49 miles east before starting my 2700 miles westward drive). Yes, crazy! Life is good.

Go Navy ( they wear the tight colors so I can Pridely wear my Cal hat without getting into trouble with the local fans).

Go Cal, Beat Davis!

* It is already 1 PM EST and I am too late for the 12 noon EST Maryland-Howard game and the alternative was Syracuse at Liberty, but, I decided that I wasn't going to pay my ticket money to Jerry Falwell's pet school.

Go Navy!
