Nah, beating the #23 ranked team in the country and avenging the loss in Berkeley should be enough motivation.

They know they're going to lose to Bama. Cal is a game they can win, they are pumped and focused on Cal for sure.

This, not to mention 2 former pac 12 head coaches as new Coordinators. A lot to prove on Saturday.

If you read Luke's comments about the game he cites home field specifically the early start time being a disadvantage to us. Wreaks of good ole home cooking attitude. I want us to win this game badly.

The cool thing is when you listen to Wilcox talk about the Ole Miss game he specifically says he's not worried about the start time or the conditions!

I like the confidence but Tedford was talking like that before the @Maryland game and annoyed (which happened often after his first few years) that media would even ask about it.

I hope it's like the 2017 UNC game.

Much like Cal, the Rebs have already opened up conference play by beating Arkansas at home in week two.

Exactly. There is a difference between "We aren't even thinking about that" and "we aren't worried, because we have prepared for that." Hopefully with Wilcox it is the later.

This forum seems to be the most active Ole Miss forum

Red Cup rebellion is a little active too.

Yeah - Ole Miss fans seem really down on their team.

Given the hits their program has taken over the last several seasons and who they have to play every year in the SEC, that's not really surprising, do you think we we would be in a good mood if we had Alabama and LSU on the schedule every season?

FIFY

Cal beat the defending Pac-12 champions. Ole Miss beat the SEC equivalent of Oregon State.

JT flew to Maryland on Friday for the Sat game. Besides the walk through, the team was 100% air conditioned right up until game time I was there and the Bears literally melted not being ready for the heat, and perhaps the time change.

I liked this very relatable post:

A trend I notice .

Monday...we suck fire everybody
Tuesday...well not everybody , but we still suck
Wednesday...here are some good points , suck may be a little strong...young , yeah young
Thursday...if we can do this , its winnable, guys are going to get better , with time
Friday...we've got a shot at this , guys had a good week of practice , lot of good reps
Saturday....middle fingers in the air , bring it mofos....bring it...hydr...love it.

Didn't Cal travel to Maryland on Friday instead of Thursday? I think that's what did us in. We will be traveling to Mississippi on Thursday.

In that Maryland game, Cal looked looked like the West Canaan Coyotes after an all-nighter at the Landing Strip. Have a feeling Coach Wilcox will avoid that look.

Cal's DBs were practicing in long sleeves during fall camp to prepare for this...they'll be ready for the Mississippi heat

Not to get too negative, but comparing Oxford Mississippi when it's going to be close to 90 out is nothing like wearing long-sleeve t-shirts in Northern California. Our offense is definitely going to need to control the ball a little bit or our defense is going to get tired. There's simply no way to acclimate to this unless you're in it all the time

And thankfully the weather is still looking about as good as one can expect for this time of year in Oxford, MS. Game time forecast:

83-89F ("feels like", actual lower)
No rain
53-48% humidity (drops during game)
45-33% cloud cover (sun most of time)
7-8 mph max wind

Weather should not be a factor...

yes I was somewhat saying that "tongue in cheek". I didn't have a smiley face to make it more obvious
