Pac-12 and Big 10 should move the "Rose Bowl game" to Sofi Stadium if it turns out to be a good venue. The Rose Bowl is not a great stadium, and its mystique comes from a time when there was no playoff, few bowl games, and only one game a year there.
That's funny! While we're at it, let's move the Rose Parade to Inglewood LOL! (No shade to to the City of Champions)
Patience is a virtue, but I’m not into virtue signaling these days.

WHAAT??

The whole point of the Rose Bowl game, the whole reason, it has a monopoly on the 2 pm. New Year's Day slot, is not only because it's the Grandaddy of them all but because of the beauty of its sunsets. Because of the beauty of the stadium, etc. When you put it inside an anodyne stadium, it becomes the Alamo Bowl.
The beauty of the sunsets??? Sunsets??? After all the Cal games I've seen at the Rose Bowl I can't say I have any warm feelings about that stadium. It's either insanely hot for games in September and October or unpleasantly cold for those late post-Thanksgiving November night games that Cal now seems to be featured in.

I certainly don't understand Cal fan nostalgia for the place except for those few who can still remember the Pappy Waldorf days. It's great if southern branch wants to continue using it for their home games. That will allow everyone to go there and wax poetic about the place. And the Rose Parade can still go on without the game at the Rose Bowl. But perhaps Sofi Stadium will be an improvement for the playoff games. Or it may turn out to be a dud like Levi's Stadium. I'm excited to check it out though because it may address a lot of the issues with football games in LA.

We're talking about the Rose Bowl game, not the Rose Bowl stadium itself during the regular season.

The Rose Bowl game is a beautiful, breathtaking viewing experience. One that's a New Year's tradition.

The Rose Bowl stadium during the season looks like an empty dump. I don't care if regular season UCLA games are moved to SoFi.

Although I did say earlier that the Rose Bowl game really should be kept at the Rose Bowl, I'm not sure I get the point about the sunsets. Does the Rose Bowl use its own Sun? As in a different one that is somehow more magical than the one the rest of us have?

I think I remember that game when Wisky was rolling over the Ducks 119-7..... oh wait, that's total yards.

I believe the stadium officials are recruiting volunteers, who'll be dressed in gladiator garb, chained to the 50 yardline center logo, with no weapons, and then face off with a dozen starving lions at halftime.

This is part of the effort to get lackadaisical LA fans to actually attend a game. Initial reports are that LA people don't think this is entertaining enough to justify their attending in person. "I have my people call your people about it" is the common comment heard at LA spa clubs.
