Let's hopefully assume that the season is played this Fall.

What do you expect from your Golden Bears? Wins? Bowl? Pac12 Titles?

9-3 going into a decent bowl.

Expectations /= Predictions

Wilcox said he wants expectations for the program to be raised. The below would make for a successful season.

1. No blow out losses.
2. Winning Pac-12 record.
3. In the hunt for the Pac-12 North Title late in the season.
4. End the season ranked.

Winning the North or the Pac-12 outright would make for a fantastic season.

Expectations:

. 9-3 or better (this would require a 6-3 record in the Pac-12)
. Winning Pac-12 record (it has been way too long for this)
. Beating two out of three LSJU, U$C and UC Westwood
. Finishing in the top 25
. Top 4 recruiting classes in the Pac-12
. And of course going to a good bowl game.

. Anything better, and it is a great season.
. Anything less, and not so happy.

Go Bears!

Similar projections to what some other have posted:

  • Strong start to the season (5-0) / ranked mid-teens by early October
  • Losses to USC and Oregon in October
  • Solid finish to the season, losing only at ASU
  • Retain the Axe
  • Finish 9-3 (6-3 Pac 12 / 2nd in North)
  • Las Vegas Bowl (now P12 third choice vs. an SEC or B10 team)

I honestly can't remember a time when the stars have so clearly aligned for Cal (setting aside the whole end of the world thing going on). Even '04 - 07 don't compare since we had to contend with a dominant USC. Look at our returning experience and look at the rest of the conference and their losses. Conference is down or young and we are up. Depth at key positions, a ton of upper classmen and a billion starts. Been forever since any of that was true, much less all of it.

We've been patient for a long, long time but this is our year. Win the conference or this thing is a bust. 11-1 or better.

Exactly what I was thinking. Also, the Vegas bowl is a much better deal than in the past with an improvement in venue and opponent.

IMO, that would be an outstanding season.

My expectations involve the law of averages (if there is such a thing). After several years of an abnormally high level of serious injuries to important players, I am expecting that this year we will have a relative injury free season. If we had had fewer injuries last year, we would have won at least 9 games. With this year's rooster and experience, and with my conviction that our critical players WILL stay healthy all season long, I see an 11 win season.

That is not how the Law of Averages works, but I do hope we have an injury free season.

I don't usually make predictions, I like to take each game as they come, but I am certain our offense will be more enjoyable to watch.

Postponed - take it to the bank.

Another major star that's in alignment is the very favorable home/road conference schedule (TCU, Oregon, Utah, UW, and Big Game all in Berkeley, plus Pullman early and Tempe late; exactly as you want it to be).

I agree that things are setting up as *rosy* as ever I can remember for Cal.

Go Bears!!
