I was cleaning out a bookcase and found my 2001 Athlon Preseason Magazine. It was not good. It forecast a bad year for us and it was spot on. Interestingly they didn't project any Pac12 First Teamers - just like this year. Hope this No Name team exceeds expectations.

Al Borges certainly didn't get the most out of Kyle Boller.

UCLA started off hot then crashed out later that year with a 4-game losing streak, Oregon State flamed out spectacularly (11-1 in 2000 to 5-6 in 2001), Oregon lived up the hype and was passed over for the BCS National Championship game and in retrospect should have gone to Pasadena, but the big surprise was Washington State going 10-2...
