I'm assuming this means the more northern team wins every football game...we can't allow a southern team win become a symbolic representation of the South winning the civil war.

Thankfully Berkeley is more north than Stanfurd.

The Kansas-Missouri game is known as The Border War (also an apt name for that rivalry).

Notes:

The rivalry was placed on hold after Mo. moved to the SEC.

They have played 120 times (Cal v. Stanford 118 games).

The American Civil War was not the only civil war.

Just the name "Civil War" was too sensitive. Don't ask me to explain why, because I cannot, really. This is similar to tearing down the U.S. Grant statue. I mean, different for a number of reasons, but similar in distorted logic. PC gone amok.

But it's where we're at now.
