They still would have lost if the tests were correct.

Right, they would have lost to the Ducks anyway.

But, their starting QB would presumably be better off this week if he had played last week's game, whereas now he's playing his first game this week, and LSJU might need to score a lot of points this week, given that they're playing Colorado who rang up 48 points against UCLA last Saturday.

So they are justified to be ticked off at this "oops" from the office of Tennis Larry.

As the year becomes more surreal. If this had happened to Garbers we would be furious.

... instead, it happened to them and we are giddy with laughter!

(probably somewhat empathetic, too, deep down... sort of)

It's undoubtedly karmic payback for the dirty Skov hit on Goff...it took 7 years, but that's karma for you.

Yes, that's it for sure. Also added to that is the 'bandits in the booth' issue at the Big Game, with Michael Lowe kicked out on first play, etc. Not sure this is enough for those, though.

On the Skov very late very targeting hit that knoocked Goff out for the rest of the game/season, missed Spring ball...a penalty was called on Cal, negating the first down.

Michael Lowe thrown out first play, TD called on the field 3 times, each time overturned in the booth. Funniest was Furd fumble, Cal player comes out of the pile with the ball held high runs over to the Cal student section to celebrate, zebra still peering at the remaining pike acts like he sees something and then emphatically signals Furd ball....

That's a cheap karmic payment. It's pennies on the dollar.

What exactly where the "errors"? Was there a false positive or a true breakdown in protocol (i.e., failure to follow established rules)?

The press release is unclear, but it seems like the (false) positive test was handled correctly? If not, what were they supposed to do instead when they had a seemingly positive test?

Info is thin. But I read tonight that it wasn't a false positive. Instead it was an inconclusive. Given the statement says protocol wasn't followed, I am guessing this means that in the event of an inconclusive test, protocol calls for something short of pulling the player and his close contacts.
