Maldonado out for the season w/ lower body injury. Also, no update on when McKenzie will return but it doesn't appear to be this week.

Also Hunter (WR) is out w/ an upper body injury. No guidance on his return: this season / next season??

Ugh, losing the top 2 at our weakest position of our thinnest unit hurts big time.

That sucks.

Wilcox's strength is lighting dudes up with sim pressures in obvious passing downs.

Without NG depth, stopping the run on early downs is less likely -- meaning we may not see as many situations of strength for us from a defensive standpoint.

If only we had an offense that could put pressure on teams by racking up yards and points to compensate?

But we have TEs and a FB now, lol.

Well we do have players listed at those positions. I share your concern over Musgrave. I was not overly happy when he was hired. I agree with you about regressing rather than progressing in regards to Cals offensive approach.

None of the TEs are even above average players. Playing them as often as Cal does runs counter to what I have always believed which is get your best 11 on the field as often as possible. And FB? ***.

Not saying Cal needs to go full Air Raid but they need to be able to threaten the defense. What they tried to do vs UCLA IMO will not be effective overall. They may be able to do some business against some teams, but I suspect we may see more of what we saw vs UCLA in other games. Probably not to the ineptitude we witnessed Sunday, but 30 pts is really the benchmark for points these days. You have to be able to score. It is too easy to do so, although watching Cal you would not get that impression.
