Play-by-play: AM Radio for Starkey for the Old Blues. Iphone for the young'uns.
Carabiners, climbing rope & harness.
Blanket or climbing ledge to sit on.
Cooler backpack full of "refreshments."
Depending on son's age, approved breathing apparatus to filter out all the ganja smoke!

PS Sorry, my advice is based solely on second-hand anecdote. This embarrassed Bear has never set foot on Tightwad Hill. I'm ashamed.

Take a pic for us of the crowd. We won't shame you or them lol except maybe go "roll um up!" for anyone not wearing masks. Seriously, outdoors if spaced out, no real risk without a mask. Man I wish I was there.

Are cutouts ok up there?

After attending Cal games beginning 1982, I finally made it to Tightwad Hill.

I couldn't figure out how to get up there until I saw an older fellow with aCal straw hat, old Cal flag, dragging a cooler going up canyon road by the rugby field. I followed at a distance thinking this is somebody who looked like he knew what he was doing. Sure enough a dirt path past the softball field and parking gets you there eventually.

I'll admit I only stayed til halftime. Sitting on the fallen tree for 2 hours smelling marijuana was getting to me. And the latecomers standing was blocking the already bad sight lines.

But it was nice to feel a sense of normalcy walking the usual path thru campus up to the stadium. Listened to the second half on the drive home.

Wow so many shuttered shops / restaurants on Shattuck.

So what's the deal, I thought it was supposed to be all fenced off?
