No, at least according to the transfer portal. He is not the only one.

I hope someone can clear up some questions for me about students who enter the transfer portal. These questions were sparked by seeing that JHD has not actually transferred to another school.

1) If a player enters the transfer portal, does that mean his scholarship is immediately terminated? If not, when does it terminate?

2) If he does not end up transferring to another school, he can still remain at his original school (assuming he is in academic good standing), right?

3) If he does drop out, but was on track to graduate when he entered the transfer portal, does that count against the school/team's APR score?

Once you enter the portal, original school is not required to keep a scholarship for you if you want to come back. I doubt we did. You would think jhd would stay at Cal and at least try to graduate. The Dyson. Vacuum company can probably afford to pay

This post only talked about JHD's entering the transfer portal and the transfer players Coach Fox was looking at to fill roster spots.

Do we know if that actually ended up happening. That would be a good 40-year decision for JHD. Man, having a guy like him on our intramural team would've been a big help, back in the day.

What happened is the same thing that happened the last time he entered the portal. He vastly overestimated college basketball's interest in a wing player that cannot shoot. Everybody passed on him twice.

At least he seems to have accepted that there is no professional basketball future for him and is getting his degree. Hopefully he will find a fulfilling life with whatever degree he ends up with.

I'm sure he got interest , just not from the type of schools he wanted (ie, not P6 teams)

Right now Brown plays that role but Dyson is longer, better athlete, better rebounder and overall better defensively (although Brown is a good defender and can guard 1-4

I wish we had him sometimes when I see us get thrashed defensively

Brown is a better set shooter and better passer, but they are comparable scorers, and Dyson is a little better FT shooter

At the end of tight games when we are playing offense/ defense it would be nice to have both brown and Dyson on the defense team
