I don't know if it is random chance (very possible maybe even probable) or if there is something we are doing line up wise or if it is the better team sucking it up or ? Perhaps opponents are scouting which of their players can attack which of ours. Three in a row is trending less towards random chance and more towards a pattern. My only thought is that it could be mental. I don't know. On a more positive note (grasping), that looked quite a bit like the first half in SLC. Utah shooting better from three than their average and not turning it over much. Maybe Cal will pour it on them like in the second half in SLC.

Ugh. I personally hate it when refs change the way in which they officiate a game at halftime.
I'm pretty sure the thing with Fox's hair is that he pulls it out, watching us try to defend. Or maybe I should say "not try".
Thiemann had strung together a few decent games, but lately he's reverted back to his former self. Hands like Roberto Duran.

Timmy Allen's first points of the second half don't come until 8:34 to play. That's been huge for Cal in getting back into this game.

My overwhelming takeaway (besides "What? We almost won?!?"):
1a. We don't defend with zeal and...
1b. Individually, we have one guy who's an above average defender (Brown). The rest of the roster ranges from average (Bradley, sort of Kelly) to below average (everybody else).
That was a really exciting ending. Bradley's 3 was three quarters of the way down and then it came out. It seems that Monty jinxed Kelly when he said that he was going to make both free throws. Hopefully Celestine will continue to start. He played good defense on Allen for the most part when he was on him. Too bad KK, Hyder and Lars don't give us much when they are in there. If we had gotten a little from any of the three, we might have won this game. Not really looking forward to being thrashed by Colorado again this weekend.

The good news is it's now happened two games in a row.
And if he focuses on scoring himself, Cal loses. One guy I'd like to see focus on making everyone around him better is the point guard, Joel Brown. I am really getting tired of seeing him trapped in the paint with nowhere to go and getting his shot stuffed in his face. I know he is only a sophomore, but please................bearister said:

it was a good shot (in and out). A little more arc and he would have won it at the buzzer.
kelly probably feels bad, but he had a great game. Not sure why we didn't keep getting him the ball, and if doubled he is pretty good at kicking it out
today the problem wasn't offense
the problem was defense (reoccurring theme, and no one can blame Betley since he only played 4 minutes)
