I just want to take a little time to thank the Bears' players and staff for providing us some positivity during these times. Although the record isn't good this has been one of my favorite teams to watch (60 years worth) because they have shown determination, heart, tenacity, and competitiveness despite adversity. Also, there has been no hint of scandal or cheating (looking at you Arizona). They conduct themselves well on the court with a minimum of woofing or disrespect for the opponent.
This has been a rough stretch for me personally. My wife is going through the tortures of chemotherapy, I was recently diagnosed with a blood clot in my leg, and it's -17 degrees outside as I type this. Not to mention Covid and political crises. However, I know my wife will get through it (we think we caught it early, don't avoid your colonoscopies, physicals, etc.), blood thinner is coursing through my veins, and I know soon I will be hacking up my beloved golf course. Thursday we get out 2nd Pfizer shot and Trump is gone.
So, thank you Bears for reinforcing that sticking with it, sticking together, and believing in yourself usually produce positive outcomes. I assume for some, perhaps many, this is a bit maudlin but it's how I feel. Peace out. Go Bears

Agree this is a surprisingly fun team to watch, despite the poor record, and we are all collectively pulling out of some very difficult and painful times. Best wishes of good health to you and your wife. Go Bears!!

Thank you for sharing your challenges and adversities. My dad and my MIL both have been getting chemo treatments and both have what looks to be burn marks on their hands and faces. I suppose it's better than losing hair and puking all the time, but still hard to see. Hope the suffering for you and your wife is soon in the past.

I also share your sentiment with this team. They hold a special place in my heart, not because of wins and losses or some accomplishment on paper, but for holding firm in their commitment to the world's greatest university in the world. Takes some integrity and character when the easy way was to bolt. I'm talking about Matt Bradley, Andre Kelly and Grant Anticevich, who could have easily found suitors to take them in after the Wyking "era." Also guys like Joel Brown, Jalen Celestine and Monty Bowser who had other good offers but stuck. If there is poetic justice (no pun intended), these guys will all be rewarded next year with a successful season. But regardless, I consider them worthy of my admiration and respect.
