If I told you a team shot 52% including 41% from 3, and the other team had a player take 35 shots and only playing 7 players, in a 3OT game, which team do you think won?

This makes me a feel a little better about Cal getting pounded by WSU on Thursday.... Just a little.

Yes! Coogs may have pushed Furd off the bubble.

After watching all of Cal's games this season, it felt good watching a competitive Pac-12 basketball game for a change. Noah Williams is just unbelievable, and Washington State showed a lot of grit. Always nice to see Stanfurd lose.

Did Jk interview Kyle Smith????If the answer is no, that would be a dereliction of duty. Worthy of impeachment????

Where did this Noah Williams come from? I'd never heard of him until Thursday night...

No he didn't. No dereliction of duty. I posted this on another thread already after the Bears were dusted in Pullman.
Smith wanted the WSU job. he was in negotiation for it and took the job 2 days before Fox was hired at Cal, as his wife is from Washington (and still holds a record with 50 points in state high school Playoff game). She wanted to move back to Washington, as she grew up in Lake Chelan, a small town just east of the Cascades. They had been back East in the Ivy League, and at USF.

He was never in the picture as he was going for the WSU job.

The Bay Area, and the Cal job, isn't for everyone.

First, Knowlton should known he was going to let Wyking go and should have started interviewing long before he did. No reason to let WSU beat us to the punch. The fact Smith took the USF job instead one of the many PNW jobs indicates he and his wife would not consider living in the Bay Area, because they did. The Cal job is considered a better job and they would not have to move.

Did WSU interview Fox?

They wanted the WSU job. She wanted to move home to Washington. And he considers this his last job. Getting the USF job was an upgrade of sorts to the Columbia job he had.

What part are you missing?

1. If Knowlton had started sooner, he could have interviewed him. The fact Smith took the WSU job before Wyking was fired does not absolve Knowlton of his mishandling the hire, even if Smith ended up taking the WSU job after interviewing with Knowlton.
2. Unless you know Smith personally and heard directly from him, everything you said is what everyone says when they take a job. I am a Columbia grad, he and his wife claimed Columbia and living in NYC was a dream come true. They said the same about San Francisco and USF. When he gets an offer from a bigger program and leaves WSU behind he will say something similar.
