I'm just wondering who the NCAA will punish for UA's malfeasance. I wouldn't be surprised if it were Cal.

Miller's conference records during the past three years have been 8-10, 10-8, and 11-9. Definitely dispensable if Arizona cares at all about its public reputation.

What I have heard from a very reliable source is that UA Board of Trustees had their hands tied with Miller's contract, that they could not fire him without paying his huge buyout. Even with all of his violations. He evidently has a very good agent. That news release is only out because a judge made U of A release it. They've known all the sordid details for a long time.
So they are not negotiating with him for a contract renewal, and haven't been for more than two years. His contract expires after next season, everyone is aware of it, and I assume the decision was to ride it out, they're going to get their punishment regardless. Why pay two coaches while on probation? I would be amazed if he isn't gone this time next year if not sooner. This may be the catalyst to kicking him out the door with one year being paid. But not having a contract renewal in the works or done with a year left is the kiss of death...and goodbye.

Can I say this? That NOA is about 2x better than I could have hoped. Zero from the FBI beyond Book's conviction. Zero corroboration of ESPN's BS.

Phelps's thing with Pinder is the only other big deal and the NCAA accepted two games and repayment. The entire rest of the allegations are just repackaging Phelps/Pinder and Book taking a bribe.

It's insane they would want us punished any more than we've already done plus some probation and maybe a scholarship or two. ZERO about paying players.

Even if they don't care about their reputation, Miller only has one season remaining on his contract and could be cut loose for a relatively small amount.

OTOH, probation is incoming and they might have a difficult time getting a good coach to take that job without knowing the NCAA's sentence, so it's possible UA will let Miller coach the final season on his contract.
