Still lots of time for players to put their name in the portal, but here is what I got so far.
This is a little higher due to the seniors having another year of eligibility, but with no redshirt year required for first year transfers, I think this will stay like this and probably increase in the future ...

UW in meltdown which makes me wonder about their coach, and tons of churn at ASU too. Utah has change in coach so that's probably par for the course. Is some of this coaches cleaning house?

It looks like it is mostly bench players who do not start are the ones leaving.

Utah's losses: I always thought it evident there was respect and love among the players for Kristowiak. I like that.

Jemarl Baker: Here a kid who broke his Cal commitment, signed with Kentucky, transferred to Arizona, and is now transferring again. He's only a junior, so he has a shot at the NCAA record for changing his mind and his teams. I'm heartbroken enough over the few players who walked away from Cal, so I'm glad he never came to Berkeley.

D1 basketball is a farce, and the percentage of kids playing it who are immature is increasing.

SI's detailed analysis of Pac12 transfers:

https://www.si.com/college/cal/basketball/pac-12-basketball-transfers

Using this article, my updated list follows (though it's pretty fruitless to try to keep this up to date with players coming and going almost daily):

Utah
6 players transferring out:
Timmy Allen junior 6-6 SF (17 pts, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal) - Best player
Ian Martinez 4-star freshmen 6-3 SG (25 games, 15/minutes, 50% FG, 32% threes, 5 pts, 2 rebounds)
Alfonso Plummer 6-1 Senior SG (25 games, 28/minutes, 50% FG, 32% threes, 5 pts, 2 rebounds)

In:
Gabe Madsen rarely used 6-5 G from Cincinnati (6 minutes total in 2 games, scoring 1 basket 1-3 from three)
Brendan Wenzel freshmen rarely used 6-7 SG from Wyoming (6 minutes in 2 games, zero shots, 1 rebound)

David Jenkins Junior 6-2 G from UNLV (27 games, 29/minutes, 40-%FG, 40-3PT%, 14 pts, 2 rebounds, 1 assist)

Withdrew from Transfer Portal and will stay with Utah:

Who would want to come to the last place team for a final year and why? That is my fear as the answer is likely nobody. They are not coming here to go to grad school. They are not coming here to go to the ncaa tournament.

Maybe there is someone who thinks he is a star who has been minimized somewhere else and is being told he-can be the man here. What is the possible pitch? And we are not even considering that he may not qualify academically.

Maybe someone like Hyder who has a friend on the team? I would think we might be better off going after a JC transfer who wants to play D1 ball with not many offers. Maybe a legacy who is unhappy somewhere else? None of it computes

There is lots of playing time for a team in a major conference, plus a Cal degree of some sort for a rim protector who could come here and get us 10 ppg, 6 rpg and 2 bpg.

This is not an unattractive offer. I also hear the Bay Area is a pretty nice place to spend a year or two.

Smart. I don't love his game for the next level but his stock will never be higher.

But it's giving students the same freedom as coaches, administrators, professors, drama majors and math majors.

These were guys he was recruiting at Gonzaga so Arizona is comparable but with better weather. I don't think they are mercenaries any more than our international players are mercenaries. Just better.

Freedom is only for science deniers, GQP voters, and rich white guys.

I think it's pretty clear that an education is not on the mind of a lot of these players.

It leaves a bad taste in my mouth, to be honest.

Maybe it's time to clear the air about that.
