You didn't miss anything. It's all speculation. Some details may trickle out. Consensus/speculation right now might be that he wanted to go to a place that had a better chance of winning, but also stay near his family. Apparently there was some friction between him and Fox. It may not be the main reason he's leaving, but likely a contributing factor.

Whether anybody else leaves or not will maybe tell us something.

I may be wrong, but I seem to remember a moment in the season when Bradley was a bit miffed about how the team was playing, and he said publicly that Fox had a good plan, and the players needed to buy into it.

Isn't it possible that Bradley's gripe, if he has one, might be more with his teammates than with his coach, Mark Fox?

I'd also be interested to know why, as the season progressed, the team became more of a one-man show. Was this Fox's plan to just put all the load on Bradley and have the players try and support Bradley, or was it just Bradley asserting his will to take over, and try and win games by himself, and the players and coach bending to his will? Or what?

Oh to be a fly on the locker room wall (except the team was not allowed to use the locker room or meeting rooms last season) or wherever they met.

"Was Fox and/or the other coaches happy to see him leave??"

If they don't care about their own job security, I suppose that is possible.

"Were the players happy??"

If they are interested in breaking Wyking's -16 in a row school record, I suppose that is possible.

Yes. There are still a number of other returnees. Are they all staying and how much are they looking forward to next season?

It is possible that a number of the returnees are quite happy at Cal and see Bradley leaving as a chance for them to get more opportunities. And at this point, that is what I'm wondering about.

my answers are only what I think is obvious from following the team closely, including on social media

therefore I could be wrong, but I'm confident I'm not

Then why the repeated benching of Bradley by Fox? That doesn't sound like the way to treat the one guy following your orders.
